Life Lately

Can we talk about the cuteness? I put G's scarf on Manny and OF COURSE, he loved it. G wasn't willing to share it though and took it back.

Butttt I die. He looks so preppy.

I had all my gifts purchased by December 15th and I had everything wrapped by Saturday, December 20th. ANDDDD not everything was gift cards. A new record for me! I just love gifts under the tree. Can it just always be Christmas?

I got my fix of sushi and champs. Two of my favorite things ever. Trust me on this.

Sunday my parents came over. I made slow cooker pot roast with rice and it turned out the best it ever has. We were out of the onion mix I usually use to season the meat so I improvised and used curry powder, salt, pepper, and garlic salt and it turned out AMAZING. So good! Then I went home with my parents, but first we stopped by this cool house that had lights timed to music. It was fun to watch!

So yeah I stayed at my parents house Sunday night so my mom could take me to an eye appointment Monday morning. We watched Sound of Music and then called it a night. Monday morning we went to the doctor so he could check out the freckle on my eye (Choroidal Nevus). The doctor is 99% sure it's nothing, but I need to come back in four months to get it checked out again. Phewww. Good news! After the appointment we went shopping.

We took a break after a bit and ate lunch and refueled with Starbucks. We did some more shopping and then did some grocery shopping. My mom dropped me back home and I took Manny for a walk, unpacked and read a bit of The One and Only before G came home. It was a really nice day off with some good quality time with my mom.

I have watched The Melodores version of Take Me To Church about ten times and I'm so obsessed with it. I already love the song so much, and this a capella group just put it over the top for me. SO. GOOD.

Christmas update coming next week. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

in an interview the artist said: "Take Me to Church" is essentially about sex, but it's a tongue-in-cheek attack at organizations that would … well, it's about sex and it's about humanity, and obviously sex and humanity are incredibly tied. Sexuality, and sexual orientation — regardless of orientation — is just natural. An act of sex is one of the most human things. But an organization like the church, say, through its doctrine, would undermine humanity by successfully teaching shame about sexual orientation — that it is sinful, or that it offends God. The song is about asserting yourself and reclaiming your humanity through an act of love.
But it is super catchy and that band did a great cover!
