Weekend Update

This past weekend was a good one. It was jam packed a fun and good friends just the way I like it.

Friday night we went to a co-workers fourth annual summer bash. There was a band. Karaoke. Trampoline. Dance party. Bonfire. Fireworks (queued up right when Katy Perry belted out "Baby you're a firework!").

Even a zip line. Yes, a zip line. I told G I felt like we were at a Gatsby party.

Their house was so beautiful. This picture doesn't do it justice, but this dining room table is made out of the Breslin Center floor! How cool is that?!

A few coworkers joined us and we sat and watched the band play. Talked. Drank wine. It was so relaxing and so much fun. The night ended with a great duet from the hosts. We got home around midnight and we were beat.

Saturday morning we slept in and did some reading while I drank my coffee. I took Manny for a 3 mile walk while G mowed. Then we got ready to watch our good friends get married! I posted the above picture on FB and Instagram with the caption "It's a nice day for a white wedding" and proceeded to have that song stuck in my head all. Day. Long.

The wedding was outside overlooking this gorgeous golf course. The weather was perfect too with a nice breeze so it wasn't too hot.

Kim looked so pretty. I was obsessed with her dress. Such a stunning bride!

The ceremony was so sweet. They wrote their own vows and they were the sweetest.

They. Are. Married!!!

After the ceremony we went to the patio and enjoyed appetizers and cocktail hour. It was fun catching up with friends we haven't seen in a long time. The bridal party all came in on golf carts which was so cute!

Lets talk about the food. Ohhhhemmmgeeee. The steak was out of this world good. Cooked to perfection and so flavorful. I'm a huge potato fan, but I ate the steak first and that is SO not like me. Oh, and the dinner rolls. I loved them so much. I could have eaten ten.

I had to take the obligatory cake picture for my mom

Girlfriends! Fun fact: I've known these girls for over 7 years. I met them through Garth when we started dating. And Kim, the bride, was an integral part of Garth and I meeting.

Time to dance! I loveeeeee to dance so much. Especially the cheesy dances like the Hustle and Cupid Shuffle. I love the slow dances with G too. It was a fun night!

We got home close to 1 a.m. so Sunday was a slow morning. We slept in, took Manny for a walk, drank our coffee leisurely and I did a bit of reading. Then we went to my parents house to celebrate my SIL, Jess', birthday. It was good to see everyone and get in a few Ella cuddles. My mom made lasagna and we enjoyed a nice afternoon on the deck catching up.

At 4 we headed over to our friends' house for a BBQ. Eric smoked ribs for 7 hours and they were so dang good. It was nice seeing everyone and hearing about their summers and sitting outside enjoying a nice Michigan day. The boys played G's corn hole game for a while.

We feasted. How amazing does those ribs look? They were so good. We got home around 8:30 and I did some reading while G watched soccer. It was the perfect end to the perfect weekend. It was busy, but it was filled with so many good people and good memories. Perfection.
