Fit Friday!

This week was good. Busy. I was really motivated after last week's success to keep on keeping on.

The results:

Lost: +1 pound
Total: 2.4 pounds

Well, okay then. I'm really trying to not get discouraged about it. I was really grumpy, but then as I was walking Manny I heard the lyrics "Jesus, you are all this heart is living for" and I felt convicted. I felt I was living for a number on the scale. I regained my focus and feel better. I'm focused on what really matters. Jesus. Living life. Loving friends and family. Being present. Focus on being active and working hard. Eating 1500 calories a day. Realizing I'm more than a number. I may not have seen what I wanted to see today, but that doesn't mean what I'm doing isn't working. I'm still making progress and I may still see results in other ways. My pants are looser. That is something.

My workouts this week have looked like this:

Monday - Walk 2 with Manny and T25 at lunch with girlfriends
Tuesday - Walk 5 miles
and T25 at lunch with girlfriends
Wednesday -
Insanity and T25 (it was storming all day so no walk for Manny, boo!)
Thursday - Walk 5 miles (2 with Manny and 3 on lunch)
Friday -
Walk 5 miles and T25 at lunch with girlfriends
Saturday - Walk 3 miles with Manny
Sunday - The Shred Level 2 and walk 2 miles with Manny

A friend at work has been doing Shawn T's Focus T25 workouts at lunch and invited me to join. Holy cow, the videos are INTENSE. I am dripping in sweat afterwards, but I love it. I didn't expect to feel so energized afterwards, but I do. Luckily I have an hour lunch break so we can chat, stretch, and cool down a bit before going back to work. Also? I am so sore! But it feels so good!

The weather has been cooperating so I'm still taking Manny for nice long walks in the morning. I crave that time now. I love the time to myself to pray, listen to worship music and prepare for my day. I think Manny loves the time too. I was actually really sad when it was storming like crazy Wednesday and we couldn't get our walk in. Manny was bummed about it too. He kept looking at me like "When are we going?"

My breakfasts this week have been an egg in a cup with a side of strawberries. During the meal plan you weren't allowed fruits and I haven't been eating them since then. I'm not even sure why. But I missed them like crazy! Strawberries are so fresh and sweet right now. I also started eating an apple with my lunch.

Speaking of lunch, it has been pretty random. I eat an apple, zucchini and a Special K Breakfast sandwich or leftovers from dinner. My snacks have been half an avocado. Soooo good.

Monday night we had friends over for the USA game and they brought over this Little Cesar's Pretzel Pizza. I expected to not like it, but I think I was the only one who actually LOVED it. So good. It took a lot of restraint to only eat one slice of that deliciousness.

Tuesday morning, on a whim, I threw in a few chicken breasts and covered them with Italian dressing and set it on low for 9 hours. I was semi worried throughout the day about my random decision that morning. What if the chicken burned? What if it didn't taste good? Well, I'm here to tell you it turned out better than I expected. It was so flavorful and even a bit crispy around the edges. G even proclaimed it better than if he had grilled it. Victory is mine!

Wednesday we grabbed Chinese take-out. We had every intention to cook, but the lights leading to our house were all out. We were scared we would be out of power so take-out it was! For the record, our power was on. G could watch the World Cup. Crisis averted. So I had tofu lo mein and made it into three meals. Dinners Wednesday and Thursday and lunch Thursday as well. Score!

Tonight G and I are making Red Wine and Goat Cheese Risotto for dinner. How good does that look?!

To answer a reader question from last week, I do not make the egg in a cup at work. I eat breakfast as soon as I wake up (6 a.m.) because I always wake up starving. Just me? I make the Egg Mug Classic, but I use two eggs (not egg substitute) and if I don't have Laughing Cow Cheese I will use 1/4 cup cheddar cheese or a string cheese. Sometimes I'll add spinach or peppers if I have them on hand.

Let me know if you have other questions!

I have to remind myself that God doesn't value me by the number on the scale... its hard to put that first over the world's value...

I'm in the last week of the 60 days of T25.. its a great workout... I love they have low impact modifications too.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the Egg Mug classic link. I do eat breakfast and work and was just wondering how to cook the eggs in the mug. :)

I've been seeing T25 posted all over my instagram and blog feeds I'm so tempted to try. Are you seeing good results from it?

Have you ever thought of going to a group/class like weight watchers? I've lost and successfully kept off 38lbs with slimming world in ireland. Not easy but you seem to be struggling with what you are doing at the moment.....and I know you have accepted things as they are which is great but I really can recommend the support a class environment can give.
