Ten on Tuesday

1. If you follow me on Instagram (learningtobeawife) you know that I weighed in again Saturday morning and lost 2 pounds! That is a grand total of 7 pounds so far. It was just the motivation I needed to eat healthy over the weekend and meal plan Saturday morning for another great week!

2. I wanted to take a picture of the snow on our way home from work so I don't forget how much snow we had this year! It is even melting here so it was probably more. I just cannot get over the snow we had this winter. I'm ready for spring, but I feel like this winter I earned a badge of honor or something. We survived the winter of 2014!

3. We are supposed to get 6 to 10 inches of snow tomorrow, but it was in the 40s this past weekend and 45 degrees today. HEAVEN. It feels like heaven. Manny is definitely enjoying his daily walks again. Truthfully, so are we. The fresh air is good for the soul!

4. Our closet is full of clothes we don't wear and it is starting to get to me. I'm in need of good purge. I know a lot of people are doing the 40 bags in 40 days. I like that idea and while I do not think we will accumulate 40 bags, you never know! These tips are really helpful, especially the hanger trick to gauge what clothes you wear and do not wear.

5. Would you mind a little picture overload of my sweet niece, Ella? We got to see her this weekend while visiting with cousins we haven't seen in a while.

That. Face. I die!

She sure loves her Uncle Garth. I never caught it on film, of course, but she was so fascinated by his beard and would just touch it. Pull her hand away. Then touch it again. Adorable.

She is getting verrrryyyyyyy sleepy.

I just love watching my brother and SIL as parents. They are so good with her. And my parents. They are just so sweet with her. They are completely smitten and it is such a joy to watch.

My grandma, parents and brother, Eric. Every time Garth sees this picture he sings "The Simpsons."

6. I have read some really good blog articles lately. 40 Regrets You Don't Want to Have in 40 Years is a MUST read. Plain and simple. I loved it. I especially loved the advice to go to one new place a year. For us we get stuck in comfort and keep going back to our favorite places. But life is too short. I want to see more of the world! I also loved surrounding yourself with people who build you up, not comparing yourself and not letting other people squash your goals. These are all such important lessons I'm learning this year.

7. I also loved the blog article Dating Through your Marriage. I 100% agree with all of it. Garth and I are not perfect by any means, but we do incorporate these ideas into our marriage to make life more fun.

8. LOVE THIS: "Don't tell me how educated you are, tell me how much you have traveled"
       - Mohammed

9. I said it before and I'll say it again. I am loving American Idol this season. Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban are just so fun to watch. I'm pretty much tone deaf so hearing their critiques is so interesting to me. Also? I'm loving all the country boys and Jena from Farmington Hills! Represent!!

10. I like to give myself little challenges. Just for fun. I usually wear my hair in a bun, Ugg boots, jeans and a sweatshirt to work. That is my uniform. So last week I challenged myself to not wear a single sweatshirt. I did it! I dug out old sweaters I haven't wore in forever and tried out new hairsytles. It was fun. This week I'm going to challenge myself to no TV during the week. This should be pretty easy considering I only watch about an hour or two a week because I love to read. But it will fun to just push myself a bit more and try to only watch TV as a treat on the weekends.

Congrats on the loss this week! You are working HARD :)

I'm doing the "40 bags in 40 days" challenge as well but I'm not really counting bags. I'm just picking one spot per day (or in the case of my closet--that's a few days) to tackle. For me, it's more the exercise of making myself do it.

Good job on the weight loss!!!

I probably don't want to tead the 40 list because I'm 42 & I'll probably end up depressed at all the things that are right about the list :)

Ooh... I need to try something like weekly challenges. What a great idea!
