Fit Friday!

I get such a high going to bed each night knowing I did everything possible to get closer to my goal. It makes it 100 times easier knowing Garth has the same goals and we can each keep each other accountable. For those reasons above, I had a good week.

I tried Insanity Pure Cardio and it is pure insanity (see what I did there?). Don't get me wrong, it is so hard. Maybe the hardest work out video I have ever done. I definitely had to "phone it in" at times as Jillian would say. But. But! It is so fun to just drip in sweat and feel like you worked really hard. My workout schedule looked like this over the past week:

Sunday - Insanity Pure Cardio
Monday - Insanity Pure Cardio and walk 50 minutes
Tuesday - Walk 50 minutes
Wednesday - Walk 50 minutes
Thursday - Insanity Pure Cardio and walk 50 minutes
Friday -Walk 50 minutes
Saturday - Insanity Pure Cardio

I absolutely love waking up early because I cherish the "me" time before I start my day. I drink coffee, read my devotional, get a great workout in. But by 3:00 p.m. I'm just dragging! By 9:00 p.m. I cannot even keep my eyes open so I try to just wake up early 2 to 3 times a week and call it a success.

I switched up my breakfasts this week by making a batch of blueberry muffins.

I pair one muffin with clementines and cottage cheese. It was delicious, but not as filling as my egg in a cup. It was still nice to incorporate some diversity though.

My lunches have been random this week. Monday I had leftover curry chicken from last week.

The rest of the week I had half an avocado with half a can of black beans with two clementines. Seriously, amazing. Filling, too. I'm obsessed with this meal.

My snacks have been pretty much the same. My stand by, Blueberry Oatmeal. Yum! I did have a tea latte on Monday though. A sweet co-worker was making them and I couldn't resist. They are amazing so that was a nice Monday treat.

Monday night we went out for sushi again with the same friends. It has become a bit of a tradition and I kinda love it.

I get the same old thing - California rolls. They are just so good. But Garth's meal was so much prettier.

Tuesday night we were out and about so we grabbed Jimmy John's for dinner. Our weeks are getting busier again, but it is all fun stuff so I can't complain. Dinner on the go doesn't bother me so much when we didn't meal plan or grocery shop for the week. In fact, they are kinda fun!

Wednesday night we had Trader Joe's Tomato and Roasted Red Pepper Soup with salad.

Thursday night we had Garlic Chicken Pasta.

The results? Maintained. I think I'm in denial about it. I am not going to lie, I plan to weigh in tomorrow because I think I did lose this week. It just hasn't shown up yet. I think tomorrow I will see a loss. I did so good this week! I really watched my portions, upped my cardio, and I feel good. I never felt stuffed or gross. I do plan to up my game even more next week. We need to make a grocery trip and stock up on celery, brussels sprouts, broccoli, sugar snap peas, carrots and meal plan. This planning on the go or picking up food isn't the best. I plan to make chicken stir-fry, curry chicken, and a feta chicken salad. Onward and upward! How are you all doing?

Hello,

I've been reading your friday posts and I love seeing your commitment. Not sure if you are already measuring yourself, but you may want to since you could be building muscle (but burning fat) and that is why the scale isn't moving like you would want it to. :) I was doing T25 and made it halfway before I found out I was expecting and had to stop due to past complications so I am living vicariously through your mission to get healthy and fit. Keep up the good work!

Good point LL about the measurements. I didn't take mine before I started my journey and really wish I did. I maintained this week too. It looks like you had a great week though!

Hi, I've been reading your blog for a while and would love to offer some pointers for your weight loss journey! I just became a coach for the Beach Body team and I love their products. I've done Insanity, P90x, and T25. I've noticed that you choose one video and continue to do it all week. However, it's actually recommended that you switch it up and do a different video every day. If I remember correctly, you also have P90x, right? If so….I would HIGHLY recommend incorporating some of those videos into your routine as well. I'd be happy to help you out with a schedule if you're interested. I also have some diet tips if you want those as well. Just email me at megan.hoberg@gmail.com

Why don't you cut carbs? I see that you eat a lot of carbs (the sushi, muffins, sub) and cutting carbs can help a LOT! I lost 70 lbs doing this! Try eating 20 carbs a day and see if that works! :)

Oh my - I see you got a Beach Body post - those 'coaches' are on top of it - that's for sure.

I'm craving cottage cheese now.
