Weekend Recap in Pictures

This weekend was a good one. It started out a little rocky. Garth and I worked so late that we missed a friend's going away party. I was so bummed out so Garth got me sushi for dinner to cheer me up. We watched the Olympics and enjoyed our food so it turned out to be a good night after all! I'm sorry, Anne! Lets get together soon!

There is a Starbucks next to our sushi place so I bought a non-fat Caramel Macchiato and refrigerated it for Saturday morning. Does anyone else do this? Saturday morning and Starbucks. Doe it get better?

It sure did! I got to see my sweet niece, Ella. She is such a doll. I loved cuddling her and catching up with my brother and SIL.

Ella just stared at Garth.

She was just so fascinated by all that facial hair, I'm sure.

The happy family! Seriously, they are such good parents and it is just so fun to watch them in their element.

I mean, come on. How precious is Ella? She is just the sweetest.

She is such a little peanut. I can't wait to see her again!

She is the cutest. I miss her already! It was fun hanging out with the family, eating pizza, and Garth helped my brother move a few couches. Fun Saturday morning/early afternoon, for sure.

Around 3:00 we left and made a stop at Trader Joe's to grocery shop and then headed to our friends' new house. On the way there we drove by some pretty incredible mansions. Being house obsessed, I had to take pictures. The one above was so pretty.

This house is the biggest house I think I have ever seen. The picture doesn't even do it justice. It was huge! We stopped by and enjoyed a tour of our friends' new house, talked about their wedding plans, caught up and enjoyed seeing them for a bit while we were in the area. Good people!

It was an hour and a half drive home and it was about 7:30 and we were starving. We stopped at this fun little Irish Pub on the way home and indulged in fried pickles. YUM! Such a nice treat! We came home and hung out with Manny for a bit before calling it a night.

Sunday morning was lazy and we hung around the house catching up on our shows. All of a sudden there was a huge crash. Scared me to death. I still don't know how it happened, but our DIY bar shelf just collapsed and our margarita set crashed to the floor. Luckily, three margarita glasses survived! Garth cleaned it up and fixed the shelf. It looks good again. Such a bummer though.

My mom came over around 3:30 and we unloaded this day bed from my brother and SIL's. Thanks Eric and Jess!! Manny smelled his cousins on the mattresses.

It looks like Manny has claimed the bed, huh? We finally have furniture in our third bedroom!! Our guests don't have to sleep on the air mattress anymore, yay! I need to put the sheets on and get some pillows. I am excited to make this room livable now. I plan to get some furniture at salvation army and get some art work and start making this room cozy and fun. I'll keep you posted on the progress!

My mom and I headed to the theater to see Beauty and the Beast. We stopped at this super cute little restaurant on the way. My mom got the sangria and I had a glass of white wine.

My mom had the chicken pot pie and I had the macaroni and cheese. Oh my goodness, I think it was the best mac and cheese I have had. It was crisp and creamy and cheesy. I only ate half! It came with a house salad that was actually pretty delicious. It was a fun place and I'm so glad we went. I will be back!

The show was amazing. I couldn't believe how well the actors portrayed the characters from the movie. The dancing was incredible. The singing was fantastic.

Lumiere and Gaston were my favorite. They were just so funny and so fun to watch on stage. They were both SPOT ON with their portrayals of the Disney characters. I just cannot even fathom having a personality like that to get out in front of people and be over the top like that. To put yourself out there like that. It's just not in me.

Belle and the Beast were so good. Belle had a beautiful voice and the Beast was amazing. He had a killer voice and he could be scary mean and then he could be tender and sweet and even goofy. LOVED IT. It was such a joy to watch. I also loved watching the dads all dressed up with their daughters in ball gowns and sparkly shoes. It was so sweet.

To avoid the traffic we walked around the gift shop. How funny is this bib?! It was such a fun date night with my mom. We just do not do enough of those! Thanks mom for such a fun night!! It was the perfect end to a perfect weekend. What did you all do?
