Fit Friday!

Alternate Title: OPERATION FIT INTO THIS DRESS

We just booked our California vacation so this just got REAL. I need to start seeing some major results ASAP!I have the drive now. I want to wear the above dress to the wedding we are attending in California.

The stats this week:

Pounds Lost: 1 pound
To Go:  39

So I loosely started following The Shred. I say loosely because I’m still trying to eat up food we have. I just can’t waste food. It’s like a sin to me. My other reason, er, excuse is we have not been to the grocery store in over a week to properly prepare. I also had to use a Groupon for sushi that expired this week.

And look how good this sushi looks?! It was worth it. I knew I had a lunch meeting the next day so I ate my leftover sushi for breakfast. It was an excellent decision.

The great thing about The Shred is it's a lot of foods I normally eat. I had an egg white omlette with spinach as my breakfasts this week and it rocked my world! Also? I get Weight Watcher ice cream sandwiches, Gold fish crackers, soup, turkey sandwiches... Aka normal food I already like!

I really like structure so I think this plan will work for me. It incorporates a lot more fruits and veggies which is exactly what I need to add to my diet. I’m pumped! I plan to grocery shop this week and do some prepping of meals for the week so I can follow the plan full force next week!

Here are my workouts for the week:

Sunday – Rest
Monday – 3.5 mile walk
Tuesday – 3.5 mile walk
Wednesday – Jackie’s Extreme
Thursday – 3.5 mile walk
Friday – The Shred Level 1 and 3.5 mile walk
Saturday – Cardio Max

Truthfully, this week was emotionally hard. I was reading For Women Only for small group and the chapter was about not letting yourself go. It was a tough read and it made me cry and at other times it made we want to throw the book on the floor. God was working on my heart and I have peace about it now. But it was a struggle. I know I'm 40 pounds heavier than when Garth married me. That is a tough pill to swallow. But I'm working hard to get back to where I was and in the end that is all the book is saying. Make an effort to be healthy for your husband. And I am. I will lose it. I want to look for Garth, even though he says he loves how I look. But I also need to do it for me because, as my wise husband said, "You can't fully love me if you don't fully love yourself." It's not so much Garth wants me to be thin for him, he wants me to be confident in who I am and so it's time to really work on me. Stop complaining. To suck it up and do this once and for all!

How are you all doing? Have you done The Shred?

I admire your stamina! I hope that you are able to achieve your ideal weight. I too have been battling a pesky 10 lbs that won't seem to come off, although my metabolism has been screwed up from working nights. I hope this doesn't come across as sounding too harsh or judgmental, but have you considered trying a predominately clean eating diet? It seems like you frequently post about processed foods that you had for breakfast/lunch. Just because something, like a Special K breakfast sandwich only has, say 250 calories, doesn't mean you should eat it. Rather than focusing on counting calories, I would concentrate on eating clean, whole foods. Avoid processed foods like the plague. Examples: Breakfast - smoothies with fruit, protein and/or veggies or egg scrambles with fresh veggies. Lunch or dinner - spaghetti squash with homemade meat sauce, quinoa with fresh veggies, stir fry over quinoa or wild rice, shredded chicken/beef with avocado, tomatoes, cilantro, salsa, etc rolled up in lettuce leaf 'wraps,' baked salmon/cod/halibut with baked sweet potato fries. Snacks - fresh veggies & hummus, nuts, hard boiled egg. These are just a few suggestions. It is much harder to eat this way as there is so much prep work involved (initially I fumbled through this type of diet and the food prep it required). However, since I've been eating cleaner I have felt so much better. I do hope you are able to achieve your goal and wish you all the best of luck!

I'm fighting your battle. If you like to count calories like me, I love the fitness pal app. It's free and really keeps me in control.
