It was such a lovely, long weekend. On the fourth of July we went to my brother and SIL's for a BBQ. We had pulled pork, hot wings, fruit, chips and salsa... But most importantly! My SIL, Jess', famous mac and cheese.
SO. GOOD. We had a great time enjoy family, eating good food and sitting outside enjoying the nice weather. It was also fun seeing all the sweet pups. Meet Lucy:
She's my favorite. She is so cuddly and sweet. Also? She is extremely terrified of fireworks so she is wearing her thunder vest to help her feel secure. I die.
Another sweet pup we don't see often is Bandit. He is such a sweetheart too.
On Friday morning we slept in and made a Red Pepper and Feta Quiche while we sat outside and drank coffee and read.
After breakfast we headed out to the local lake in our city and spent the early afternoon floating in the lake and enjoying the sunshine. I love summer in Michigan. It is just so green and lush and the lake was just warm enough to not be uncomfortable and just cool enough to be refreshing.
On Saturday Garth and I did a little bit of yard work, took naps on the hammcok, went for a long walk and then brought dinner to our sweet friends' that just had their third baby, Leighton.
How teeny tiny and sweet is little Leighton?!
Watching Garth hold her made my uterus ache a little bit. We had a lot of fun cuddling her and catching up with good friends.
Sunday was cool and rainy so Garth and I had a lazy day watching movies. We rented Premium Rush thanks to my parents' recommendation and it was an excellent movie.
It was such a perfect weekend full of good friends and family, quality time with Garth, relaxing, sunshine, and sleeping in. I am rejuvenated and ready to get back to a schedule. A routine. How was your long weekend?
