Random Musings

Our flowers out front are blooming, yay! So. Pretty.

We had a low-key, amazingly long holiday weekend. It was just what we needed. There was lots of grilling, sitting on the deck, sleeping in, and working on the yard.

I am happy to report there is not a single weed in our landscaping. In the cracks of the driveway. Anywhere. We got smarter this year. We pulled all the weeds, sprayed Roundup and then laid down mulch to hopefully not have to weed the garden beds again!

Garth planted his garden this weekend. He planted tomatoes, onions and garlic. We'll see how our first garden grows!

I mentioned last week we have been watching home videos of my childhood. One of the funniest moments is my brother, Eric, pulling a slinky out of his Easter basket. He pulled it apart and squished it back together. He repeated this about 50 times with wide eyes. It was like his mind was literally blown. I just think about it randomly and start laughing.

How yummy does this watermelon lavender martini look?

It's garage sale season! LOVE. I can't wait to scope out deals. I had great luck last year and hope to find some gems this year as well.

This post made me soooooo happy. Maggie is an excellent writer and I have been a reader/fan for a while now. This new chapter of her life is going to amazing and I could not be more happy for her.

We have friends running the Lighthouse Half Marathon in October in Traverse City. We are going with them to cheer them on. Last week we met and booked our condo on the water for the weekend. So excited!!!

I have a new favorite beer: Blue Moon Blueberry Tart Ale. I enjoyed sipping this after a hard day of yard work.

In other news, that will be my last beer until my birthday. Operation 2 months to get in the best shape of my life. No carbs. No alcohol. Bring. It. On.

After a recommendation from a co-worker, I started watching CSI: Miami and it is so good! I watched quite a bit over the past weekend.

Give me your randoms!
