Real Housewife of Michigan

I took four days off during the holidays giving me a total of a week and a half off and it was incredible. On Christmas Eve I organized my closets, the drawers, the kitchen and had bags of stuff to donate. On Christmas I enjoyed time with Garth making the basement his man cave and seeing family.

After 8 hours:
On Wednesday I deep cleaned the entire house and made a flank steak recipe in the crockpot. It may not look delicious, but it was! I kinda winged it and threw a pound of flank steak in the crockpot, beef broth, an onion, a bit of salt and let it took on low for 8 hours. It was amazing and def a keeper of a recipe. I served it with mashed poatoes but rice would also be good. Thursday I did six loads of laundry and shoveled over five inches of snow from the driveway. Friday I grocery shopped and packed up for a weekend getaway. I also organized the pantry (if you can even call it that, it's so small) and fridge.

Don't judge me and the box of wine. :) Garth and I went out with friends Friday night for dinner and then left early Saturday morning for a little, but much needed, getaway to Traverse City. But more on that later....

Monday we spend most of the day in Traverse City and came back later that evening for a quiet New Years Eve celebration at home. Tuesday I started taking down Christmas decorations before heading to a little family get together at my parents' house. Today I plan to spend some time with a good friend. I will finish taking down decorations and organize Garth's side of the closet and do a load of laundry.

Overall, it was a very productive time off. I got everything I wanted to accomplish completed. The house is organized and clean. I am refreshed. I know it looks like I didn't relax at all, I did get lots of time to read magazines, watch HGTV and seep in. I'm ready to get back to work and back to a routine. Until next Decemeber when the house needs to be reorganized again! It was fun playing a housewife for a bit, but back to relaity now!
