My main gift for Garth was a little getaway to our favorite bed & breakfast in South Haven, MI. One of our favorite restaurants of all time is there - Everyday People Cafe. It is this super cute, super eclectic restaurant in the quaint town of Douglas. On the weekends they have Bubbles & Eats which is unlimited champagne and lunch.
What's not to love about that?
The champagne is good. But the food. Oh my goodness. INCREDIBLE. Garth said it was the best burger he ever had.
I don't usually like potato wedges, but these were so flavorful and good. But my BLT with a fried egg was simple amazing. Did I mention it had avocado mayo on it? Sourdough bread. Holy moly, it was divine!
I really wanted to go back the next day and eat that sandwich again. That's how good it was. After a superb meal we walked around the town, window shopped, and drank coffee.
We had a little bit of time to kill before check-in so we headed to Lake Michigan.
There were mini glaciers forming along the shore.
Pretty neat! Most of our stay was spent relaxing in our cute little b&b. We had a hot tub and fireplace and the breakfast delivered to our room was incredible. We did make one more stop at one of our favorite restaurants in South Haven, Clementine's.
I tried their Newcastle Brown Ale and it wad delicious.
It went perfectly with their fried zucchini. My last meal before the Whole Living Challenge and it was a good one!
