Lake House Weekend

We had the privilege to spend the weekend at my sister-in-law's family's lake house two weekends ago. We drove up Friday night with my family and arrived pretty late. But we were greeted to this amazing view in the morning:

We started off the morning with a lovely pontoon ride with our gracious hosts:

After trolling the lake we had breakfast and coffee. The rest of the morning included tubing, sitting on the water or in the hammock talking and relaxing. This raft was our favorite thing ever to lay on in the water all day long and be lazy and soak up the sun.

After some great time on the water we ate lunch and played some Scrabble on the deck.

The rest of the afternoon was pretty much a repeat of the morning. Laying on the raft in the water, then sitting on the pontoon and reading a magazine, taking a nap in the hammock, and playing with the dogs. Before dinner my mom and I went for kayaking.

It was so relaxing and beautiful on the water I cannot even explain how much I love water. It is my happy place.

After our kayaking we had ribs, cheesy potatoes, and corn on the cob for dinner. Delicious! We did the dishes and then grabbed a glass of wine and trolled around the lake again. We came inside to watch the Olympics and then we were all fast asleep by ten. A day on the lake full of fun activities will do that to you.
