Vacation Recap: Part 3

On our last full day of vacation we went to the Ripley's Believe it or Not Aquarium.

We got to touch the sting rays.

And see the penguins, which, if you have read this blog for any number of months you know I am OBSESSED with penguins.

They are just so cute!!

But the coolest part of the aquarium was definitely the sharks. They were so freaky!

I would not want to run into these guys in the ocean, that's for sure.

We had a lot of fun at the aquarium, but I will spare you the 100 pictures I took while there and just gave the highlights. You're welcome.

Afterwards, we headed to the Smoky Mountain National Park and took a hike while I tried to enjoy the scenery and not think about coming face to face with a bear.

 And we never did see one, thank goodness.

After our hike we were pretty starving. We went to Bennett's Pit Bar-B-Que for lunch. We started with beers in mason jars

and fried pickles. That is heaven on a plate right there. YUM.

I ordered the pulled pork with their mustard sauce. Deliciousness.

I also got fried green tomatoes. When in Rome.

Garth got the ribs and also enjoyed the mustard sauce. Overall, I would give this restaurant a B+.

After lunch we went to the Apple Barn because we heard it was a must-see. The people were friendly and we enjoyed a wine tasting, though the wine was way too sweet for my taste.

Then we went and ate donuts and cider and walked around the general store. Fun times. Afterwards we grabbed sushi. Yes sushi in Pigeon Forge. I'm sorry, I just needed to detox from lunch! And actually, it was really good sushi! We grabbed it and took it back to our cabin and ate on the deck and enjoyed the hot tub. Gosh, I loved that hot tub. Nothing is more relaxing than soaking in the tub, reading a book, and glancing up at the mountains and Garth. Pure perfection. It just all went way too fast!
