Fit Friday!

I am on level (and/or Week) 2 of Ripped in 30. Day 12 of the 30 days to be exact. I started level 2 on Sunday and it. Is. Hard. Oh my goodness. I did level 2 for the first time, took a shower, and then went to church. I was literally shaking from how hard I worked. And our church auditorium was hot and I felt like I might pass out. I didn’t, thank goodness. But I did not like that feeling. I make sure I drink enough water while doing it and I just lay on the ground after it’s over for a couple minutes to let my body recover before showering.

I like the video because it is challenging and some of the moves are different from The Shred. I do not like that Jillian does back-to-back plank moves. Not only do my wrists start to hurt but I feel like I’m going to die. And when I’m on the fourth set of mountain climbers I literally do think I might die. But then Jillian says “You are not going die. It never hurt to get uncomfortable. That is where change takes place.” Hmmm I love that Jillian thinks I’m JUST uncomfortable. Uncomfortable is having to pee really bad when driving and you can’t go. Uncomfortable is when your stomach is rumbling when you are in a meeting. THIS WAS NOT UNCOMFORTABLE. This was I’m gonna die kinda pain. Like stepping on a lego or getting your finger pricked. My arms felt like they would fall off and my legs and abs were burning and it just becomes a total mental game at that point.

I’m not gonna lie, I’m not that nice during all those plank moves. Garth came into the room while I was doing plank jumping jacks and corrected my form and I yelled “Get out!” So all that to say, it’s a great workout. I still feel like it was the best nine bucks I ever spent. My jeans are loose. My stomach is flatter. My face is slimmer. I feel amazing. And the best news of all is the scale says I have lost three pounds. And Garth is rocking the running. He is fully recovered from his back pain and running four times a week, and six miles on Saturday. He has lost six pounds in the last two weeks. Rock star! He will give you more information on his running progress next week. But we are doing great. Eating healthy, running, getting ripped, and feeling good!

I just want to let you know that you're not supposed to lay down immediately after a workout. Walk around and let your heart rate come back to a normal pace. You could pass out due to a huge dip in your blood pressure.
