Menu Monday

Ahhhh back to the grind after an amazing weekend spent with friends, relaxing, eating good food, and movie watching. Perfection.

This weekend Garth and I discovered the amazingness that is Aldi's. How did it take me so long to go here? Garth and I had heard it was cheap but we FREAKED out when we were inside. We could not believe how much cheaper it was than Walmart. I do not think we will ever go back! We bought our usual groceries and were under budget by $25!!! Love that.

Monday: Grilled chicken with peppers (3 peppers were $1.25!!!)
Tuesday: Whole Wheat Spaghetti with Garlic Spaghetti sauce (only $1!) and frozen ground turkey ($1.50!)
Wednesday: Heirloom Tomato and Goat Cheese Pizza ($1 for tomatoes!)
Thursday: Leftovers
Friday: Chicken Tortilla Pie (Bag of frozen chicken was $5!)

I am sorry for all the exlamation points. It was really exciting for us. I know we looked crazy as we walked down the ailes saying stuff like "Whoa! These peanutes are $1.50 cheaper than Walmart!" But I think the biggest shock was our coffee was $4 cheaper than our usual. Crazyness. What's on your menu? Any budget friendly tips you have? There is nothing I love more than saving money!

I LOVE Aldi! I don't eat much processed food (which they have for so cheap!) but even their produce and cheese and stuff is way cheap. I don't live close enough to one anymore to justify going there just for my produce though :( You better believe I stop in though if I am nearby!!

I always price-match their produce at Walmart but haven't tried any of their other products, mainly because the closest Aldi is about 30 minutes away.

Do you think the quality of the meat is the same as other places?

I'm happy to hear there's another Aldi lover out there. Ryan and I are pretty devout Aldi converts and have been shopping there since we got married. We have a really nice store near us. I usually have to hit two stores, because there are some things we need from the other (more expensive) grocery store. But, we get most all of the staples at Aldi. We love their produce and their frozen chicken and ground beef are the best prices around. Also, they have the most delicious ribs in the summer. They are like $6.99 and all you have to do is throw them on the grill. They are AWESOME!

I'm way jealous! We don't have those in Arizona. It sounds like you can even get healthy foods there! Score! I'm so trying the goat cheese/ tomato pizza! Yum!

I love Aldi! I'm grain & sugar free now, but I still clean up in the dairy and produce sections! I go to WalMart for the stuff I need that Aldi doesn't carry (coconut milk, coconut & almond flour, certain veggies), but it saves me $10-20 per week :)
