Wedding Wednesday.

Since we are discussing marriage, Garth and I thought it would be fun to play a version of The Newlywed Game. We may have had way too much fun developing questions for the game. We weren't sure how it was going to go or if people would get our silly humor. We had questions like "If you were a Disney character which one would you be?" and "What's your biggest fear?"

If you are not familiar with the game, I'll explain. Garth took the guys down stairs and I passed out ten sheets of paper and pens to each girl. I asked them ten questions and on each sheet of paper they wrote their answer. For example, for the Disney character question I said Belle (from Beauty and the Beast). After all the answers have been written down the boys come up and we went through each question with each couple. The boys had to answer what their spouse would say. For the Disney question, Garth answered that I was Goofy. Ha! We kept score and the couple with the most right won the game.

The game was a hit! There was lots of laughing. Not surprising, the couple married the longest (8 years) won the game. We didn't do so bad though! The rest of scored 70 to 80%. The game was such a hit that the guys wanted to write their own questions and ask the girls. It seems I may know Garth better than he knows me because we won this round with 7 out of 10 correct.

As we played the game it dawned on me how well we each know our spouses. I think that is one of the best things about marriage. You really know someone. And someone really knows you. They get you and what you are about. Who doesn't want to be understood? I love that Garth knows what drink I would bring on a deserted island, my biggest pet peeve, my deepest fear, etc.

What a great idea and so fun! We have been married 5 years and Everyday find out something about each other we didn't know. But I'm pretty sure I know my husband better than he knows me. And I know he would disagree ;)
