Baby Talk.

Is it weird that Garth and I talk about baby names often... And we aren't planning on having kids for awhile? It's just so fun!
When we were dating we agreed on Priscilla and Tristan. I love the name Priscilla! I wrote my thesis on her in grad school and fell in love with that name. One of Garth's favorite movies is Legends of the Fall and the lead character's name was Tristan. It was perfect. We were all set (if we had a boy and a girl)...
Until Garth decided he didn't like those names anymore and my family started to protest the name Priscilla. I still love it and am fighting for it! (Do you see how NOT normal this is?) So we started really loving the names Isabella (Bello-boo!) and Jacob....and then the Twilight thing happened and we thought maybe those weren't the best names. Though, at the rate we want children (3 to 5 years down the line) we still might be able to get away with these names since Twilight will be long gone (or will it?).
Right now, we are loving Elijah and Isabella. I also adore Liam but all of these names are tricky because our last name has a lot of L's so it doesn't flow very well.
It's a viscious battle! Good thing we have plenty of time to decide!

Chris and I go through this all the time ... more Chris then me. =) It gets me excited.. because lets face it I will be 31 in March and I'm not getting any younger.

And I like Elijah and Isabella.. those are my favorites of your choices. (if you cared)

We talk about baby names too, even though we aren't planning on having them anytime soon. It's fun to come up with new names!

This is totally not weird! We talk about baby names alot but aren't planning on any for a few years yet. We even have definite names and back up names...although I'll have probably changed my mind by the time I actually come to have a baby! :)

I definitely try to talk about baby names, but Nick says it's a waste of time because we'll just change our minds anyway! I'm with you on Isabella, that's so beautiful!

We talked baby names WAY before the baby! Heck we talked baby names WAY before we were even married. Funny thing is, when the time came to name an actual human being we didn't even consider all those names we'd been tossing out. Funny how things work out!

That's so funny! My sister also loved the name Tristan from LotF and actually named her son that 8 years ago this month. My husband and I also have names picked out, actually only for boys at this point...and we are NO WHERE near ready for kids. It is something fun to think about though.

Isabella has been my girl name for years. Then I realized it is just too many letters for our last name (and Twilight happened!). I still love the name though and Elijah is a good one too!

Ha, we do the same thing! I think when you have kids, you'll just "know" the right name.... Or so I keep tell myself!

We have talked about baby names since we first started dating too. I used to want to talk about them all the time. Then when my husband got home in the fall, HE started asking me about this name and that name.

Funny that you mention the name Liam. We have the same problem! We love that name but with our last name it would be too much!

We do the same thing and have two names in mind. It could always change, but it's fun to discuss!

We do the same thing...and we're not planning on starting a family for awhile! We actually keep track of them in a journal. And for some reason, we never seem to cross any off...just add to it!

If this baby we're expecting hadn't been a girl, we were gonna name him Liam, too:) And I like Priscilla a lot!

haha, I did a post on just this not too long ago! I decided to go ahead and post all our names that we picked out 7 years ago so that even after every single one gets used by others, I can still say I'm not copying! http://thelifeaccounts.blogspot.com/2010/11/whats-in-name.html

Oh so many people have these sorts of conversations with that whole "we are waiting" thing in the midst...and before you know it...there is a cute bundle they call "surprise" in their midst!

:-) I think all of your chosen names are lovely!

This is totally normal!! I've had my names picked out for years, but then I got married and he basically vetoed every single one of my choices and we chose a name I never would have picked but now love!!

I love the name Isabella!!! I have a niece with the name. I always said if I had a boy he would be Xandier but Brian wanted an Elliot. Lucky for us we got an Ellie although I pushed for Josephine. I still think that when you finally decide to start a family you will just know the name. :) XOXO

I always loved Tristain too - it's been on my name list since Legends of the Fall :)

Awww you and Garth are too cute. My husband and I are expecting a baby any day now but we cannot decide on her name. I thought it would be so much easier to determine her name, but when it comes down to a real baby- it's hard!

Baby names are one of my favorite things to talk about!! I love Isabella too, even though Twilight kind of took over. Oh well, just gives you and Garth more chances to talk names!

Me and Bry do the same thing too....we have both our boy and girl names picked out.
