Unplugged.

Life has been busy lately. Learning a new job. House hunting. Commuting to work. Trying to establish a new routine. I just feel like life is moving so quickly and not having my "usual" schedule has been stressful. So Garth and I went camping this weekend. And by camping, I mean we stayed in a cabin. That is my definition of camping, don't judge me. We were unplugged the entire three days and it was bliss. No cell phones. No computers. No television. No World Cup Soccer. Perfection.
We went to Traverse City for the Cherry Festival. We got in Friday night and set up in our little piece of paradise:Saturday morning we were up early and ate breakfast and a super yummy cafe and then walked over to the beach to lay in the sun and watched the Blue Angels.
Look at all the boats getting ready to watch!I just could NOT get over how talented these pilots were! The beach was packed!Saturday night we hung out at the campground and played chess and miniature golf and I beat Garth at both! Don't believe me? I have proof:Sunday we ate at our favorite restaurant (North Peak Brewery - if you are in Traverse City go there!) and then headed to Old Mission Peninsula to do some wine tasting:
After tasting some delicious wines we went to the beach at the end of the Peninsula and floated on our rafts for a couple of hours. I don't think life gets much better than that. Then we drove back to the cabin and made a camp fire, grilled some bratwursts on the campfire and enjoyed our last night.
And that is that. The end to a perfect weekend. I seriously don't know where it went, it went so fast. Now we're back to the grind. But life is good!

It sounds like you two had a wonderful weekend! I think it is great to have an unplugged weekend like that because it gives you plenty of time to focus only on yourselves.

Have a lovely week!

My husband and I saw the Blue Angels a few months ago at an air show and they really are spectacular.

Your weekend looks like it was fantastic! They really do go by too fast, though. I hope things begin to even out for you and a new "usual schedule" falls into place. In the meantime, keep treating yourself to good, quiet moments!

What a fun weekend!!! I've always wanted to play with a giant chess set. :) I love watching the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds fly. Something about the sound and speed. Sure wish I was a pilot but then I remember I hate flying. LOL!!!

XOXO
