A Life Update.

I know I've been scarce in the blog world lately and I feel so disconnected and I miss it! But it was a nice break to establish a schedule with the new job, clean the house, catch up on laundry, and spend lots of time outdoors and with Garth. Not to mention we are house hunting, car hunting (my lease is up next month, eek!), I am now a commuter (I have an 60 minute commute to work), oh, and we lost power last week.

So now you know why I've been gone. But I am very much looking forward to being back in the blog world and catching up on your lives. Here is what has been going on in my life:

.01. We are still house hunting. We shifted target areas so it has been more of a challenge to find something in the new area. For some reason there is a lack of houses in these areas, but we are still looking and our goal is to be in a house by Christmas.

.02. Yes, I have an hour commute to and from work. It's actually not bad at all. It's a nice, quiet time to pray, listen to good talk radio, or reflect. There usually isn't traffic and the scenery is pretty so I do enjoy the "me" time. It will be nice to have a house closer to work when winter hits though.

.03. We lost power last Thursday night and it was quite unfortunate because we had just put a lasagna in the oven. Plan B? A candle lit dinner of Cheez-its. So romantic. The romance was lost by morning when we STILL didn't have power and had to get ready for work via camping laterns and shower in the dark.

.04. The World Cup is over and it was amazing. Garth loved every second of it and was so proud of South Africa for doing such a wonferful job as host. I'm just glad it's over and to have my husband back.

.05. The weather has been incredible here. We never get a really hot summer like this so I am savoring it. We have been swimming, hiking, or playing tennis most evenings. Love it!

.06. Garth is going to meet my co-workers tonight for a Pig Roast at the boss' house!

.07. I have some really awesome reviews and my FIRST giveaway ever coming up. Get excited!!! As well as some super delicious recipes Garth has made that I can't wait to share.

I feel ya on the house hunting! Hope you get a house closer to work to shorten that commute, because I will tell ya that it does get old! Mine is only 35-40 minutes and I hate it!

That power outage is a bummer! And I would love an hour commute- that devoted time everyday to pray or just be still and quiet would be lovely!

I was wondering where you went. Glad you are loving the new job and the commute too!!! I need to spend some time praying in my car instead of developing road rage I think. Still sending prayers for you both on the house hunt. Love you girl!!! XOXO

oh my you have been busy! A pig roast at the boss's house? That is so cool!
My lease just ended too, I rented a car for a few months (A Prius hybrid - it was awesome, that gas mileage is hard to give up) and just wound up buying a Ford Edge. My first purchased car, I've always leased. What are you thinking of getting?

Glad to hear all is well. Sounds like life is good. =) And, I totally understand your frustration with no power. Last summer, we lost power for almost 7 days. It was HORRIBLE. The worst part was trying to get ready in the morning.

Congrats on the new jobs. Taking your time house hunting may seem like a pain but it's the best thing. We rushed into buying our house and, while I love it, I would definitely do it differently!
