The House Hunting Experience.

Looking for a house was stressful because every time we fell in love with a house and were about to make an offer, the house would go pending. ARGH! Remember the Dawson's Creek house? Well the day we were scheduled to see it ended up being a day I had to work late so we had to rescheduled. The next day we found the house had sold. Seriously?!
Some of our friends had started to look at houses at the same time we did (a month ago) and are now closing on houses. It was discouraging. Why weren't we finding a house? Why were houses going so quickly?
We were feeling rushed and a bit frustrated. Then this job opportunity presented itself and it was just too good to pass it up. The only problem is the job is quite the commute. After some discussion (and prayer, of course) we have decided to target an entirely new city for our house hunt. I think I'm starting to see a glimpse of God's plan and maybe understanding why we weren't finding a house in the previous cities we were looking.
All that to say, it's a fresh start in a new city that starts today!

The Dawson Creek House looks really nice. However it almost looks like the destiny didn't want you to buy the house. I understand your frustration with neverending house seeking. You can check my website http://ellidavis.com and maybe you'll find some house you like.

Eek, that scares me a tad because we're planning on looking at houses in a few months and I'm so impatient! But I definitely believe God has a plan and leads us to it for a reason. I bet you'll find the perfect home in no time in the new city!

we saw the same thing happen, my friend. God protects, leads and directs -- and despite it being frustrating at times, He's in control. I'm happy you're targeting a new city! Here's to happy house-hunting!

Our God is an awesome God, isn't He? It just amazes me how He knows all that is currently, and is to come in the future--yet we sit here and want to know "When, God?" and "Why not, God?" I just imagine Him sitting on His throne, smiling and saying, "My child, just wait! Have patience! I am the author and finisher, my plan is good!"

I'm just sure things will fall into place very soon now, for you and Garth. Hang in there and best of luck on your new job!

Smart not to rush into a house. Something perfect will come along and when it does, you'll know. Good luck!

God works in mysterious ways! We put our condo on the market in Sepetember hoping to build our dream home as soon as it sold. Six months later it was still on the market and our contract to build lapsed. We started looking at exisiting homes in the same area...still waiting to sell. That May we decided to move to Kansas City. Had the condo sold right away and we built our house we would have never even considered the move!

He always has a plan and we just don't understand it sometimes. It always reminds me of the Garth Brooks song: Unanswered Prayers.

Yay! It's so true when house hunting, that what's meant to be will work out. We put bids on two houses that we didn't get when we were looking for our house. Now, I look at those houses and think, thank goodness. Good luck!

God does have a plan for you two! Isn't it crazy when you see how things turn out, after worrying about why something isn't happening? It's because He's got something else in store! :)
