A Life Update.

1. After a jam packed week of house hunting we took the weekend off and it was glorious. We grilled together, watched movies, read in bed, and went to church.

2. Monday night we tried Indian food for the first time. SO GOOD! I think I'm addicted to nan and chicken curry. Holy yum.

3. I told you about this house we fell in love with last week, but that was out of our price range. Well after much thought and discussion with family we realized it wasn't really out of our price range. We could put an offer in and just see what happens. We were so excited to talk to our agent come Monday, only to find out the house had been sold.

4. We were heartbroken, but we have to move on. We know that God has something perfect for us and we just need to be patient.

5. We went out last night to look at houses again and I fell in love with this bungalow:
Lovely family room:

Kitchen:

Guest bedroom:

Such an adorable nursery:

LOVE the 2nd floor master:

Basement:
6. Gorgeous, right? Unfortunately, at the end of the street is an old motel. We are afraid the motel will get more and more run down and when we want to sell the house it would be difficult. Another problem is the house is right on the border of another city that isn't very nice. Major bummer. Another house to cross off the list.

7. But I had to post pictures of the house because 1. I'm not over the house, obviously. 2. I want to decorate the house we do buy exactly like this house!

Such a bummer! I was falling in love with that house. But, your concerns sound very valid. I love that you have pictures of the decor so you can replicate this when you find the perfect place!

Bummer! But that house is so cute!

When Adam and I first started looking for houses we hit every dead end possible! We found a house we loved! Made an offer on it only to find out another couple had offered more so we broke down and offered more then them... They took our offer! On closing day we got BAD news that the sellers ex wife had not agreed to sell the house and was going to sue if he ended up selling.... So we lost that house... But it was for a reason.... 2 months later we looked at a house that we feel in love with! It also came with an acre of land so that was a plus! It was smaller then the first house but we decided that a smaller house would be better for us! Since we are waiting to have kids! We made an offer on the house and they took it! The closing process on this house was not much better! It kept getting held up in under writing and it was almost 2 months after we made the offer that we finally got to close on it! We almost gave up hope but kept praying about it!

I love our home! It was a long process but I wouldn't have changed it! It is such a great feeling knowing that it is ours and we are not having to rent from someone!

Yall will find the perfect house! Don't give up! Just keep praying about it!

I know it hurts to have houses bought before you can even offer or to have to walk away because of a bad area. Just remember God has a plan for you and those homes are not in His plan!!! Love you friend!!! XOXO

I'm so sorry that God has been closing doors for you two, but it is a blessing because He will open the right door at exactly the right time and it is going to be AMAZING!!!! How fun to get to explore decorating options while you're searching!

Sorry that the house you wanted sold before you could put an offer in on it! But that just means there is another, more perfect house waiting for you.

The pics are super cute but it sounds like you guys made the right choice because location is SO important! You want to be in a safe area. If you can buy something in a good school district, it will TOTALLY help your resale value too! Good luck and I know you'll find the perfect home!

House hunting is so fun but can also be so stressful. I really hope you find "the one" and I'm sure you will.

Probably wise to avoid anything you guys have any questions about...I know the right house is out there for you!

It's hard when you love a house but then there are things you don't love about it! I know y'all will find your perfect house soon :)

Don't worry girly something just as good if not better will come along for you. Good luck house hunting.

The decor in that house IS really nice. I especially love the nursery!

Just curious as to where that house was? What city?

Ughh...bummer! Such a cute house!

Ooooh, Redford. Yeah, probably better to hold out for a better location.

All the cities Downriver (where I'm from and where my family still lives) have taken a MAJOR hit since we moved in 2006. Houses in our old neighborhood are now listed at less than 1/2 what we sold our house for. YIKES! Scary!

If you buy a house soon, my advice would be to get one that's big enough to live in for at least 10 years. The myth of the "starter home" is over, I think.

I’m so excited that you tried Indian and liked it. You have to try mateer paneer the next time that you go…so yummy!

You will find your dream house. Keep at it! You have the right attitude and I know that it will work out for you and Garth!

You're definitely doing the right thing by not jumping into something that you know isn't what you really want in terms on location.

oh bummer, but you're right, God will have an even better house for you! :) Every time we had a house fall through or sold before we could offer or something funny, we ended up finding a better one, and then said, thanks God :) I know ya'll will find a great one! :)

Ugh - don't you hate it when the surroundings don't jive with the house in which you're interested? Something right will come along!

Very, very cute and such a bummer! But you guys are being so smart and thinking everything through. Keep your head up. Your house is out there!
