Operation Get Fit!

Welcome to week 2 of OGF, how did you guys do? I'm happy to report that I lost TWO POUNDS! I haven't seen the scale drop since August so this felt amazing!!

So, here are the stats:
Current weight loss: -18 lbs since March
Goal: 8 to 13 to go!

All of the food journaling, calorie counting, and cooking at home is paying off. Working out has already become a habit (er...addiction) for me but I needed to concentrate on my eating. I'm a foodie. I love food. I knew I needed to start watching portions and keeping track of my calories if I wanted to lose weight so I tried to be creative and I made this journal out of a notebook:The inside of the journal is simple. I record the date, every. single. thing I eat (including the portion and appropriate calories), the exercise I did that day, and I add the total calories for the day at the end: I keep it in my purse so I have easy access to it so I can jot everything down. Another great weight loss tool is this AWESOME food journal by my super creative cousin, Jen. It's so much more than a food journal because it has colorful tabs, graphs, and places to write recipes and shopping lists. I would definitely recommend making your own or purchasing this one because I really do believe it is the key to success.
In other news I went to the library and borrowed Making the Cut by Jillian Michaels. I think this is a great book with a lot of useful information. Jillian rocks! She knows her stuff for sure. She includes about 20 recipes, meal plans, and A LOT of exercise information. The thing is, I'm a super picky eater so a lot of the recipes and meal plans were foods I didn't like. I also didn't like that Jillian endorsed taking caffeine pills. With that being said, I loved all of her fitness tips because she is THE expert on that. I would recommend reading this book though, especially if you're not a picky eater, because it's such an informative book.
I also borrowed Jillian's Banish Fat Boost Metabolism DVD and I love it. Holy intense! 55 minutes of extremely intense cardio is insane! I think I may need to own this because the video claims you can lose 5 pounds in a week and I believe it.
Stay tuned for next week - how to keep losing weight while on vacation.

Way to go, sista!! I have only lost about .8 of a pound, but, that's OK because I'm making better choices each day and I know that the weight will start to melt off quickly if I keep it up. I didn't realize how much just mindless eating I do! Eek!

Congratulations! I haven't stepped on a scale for a couple of months now but have been focusing on cutting out sweets as much as possible and just trying to make healthy food choices (ie minimize process foods and/or only eat 1 serving). I've also been focusing on upping my water intake and drinking at least 16 ounces of lemon water a day-it really helps the digestion system. All in all it's been going pretty well!

I have heard keeping a food journal really does help.

I tried. once.
It was hard.

I'll try again. It'll put a perspective on what I eat.

Good job on your wt. lose. I'm very happy for you!

Good job girlie! 2 pounds gone FOREVER!! I've been keeping up with it pretty good but I am not going to get on the scale for another 2 weeks. I am doing a certain diet and want to see how I do for a month of eating this way.
Keep it up!
