Ultra Modern.

In our house hunt Garth and I have learned that most of the houses in our price range have a lot of wood paneling. This is my worst nightmare. I'm not sure if I have ever mentioned my utter hatred of mismatching wood. So far we have no wood pieces in our home, we have bought all black furniture. If we do start buying wood furniture it will have to all be matchy matchy. I know this is weird, trust me. Garth has given me his "you're crazy" look everytime we furniture shop and he wants a wood table, or...well anything wood. So you can imagine my excitement when we came upon this beauty of a house:
I think our furniture would go PERFECTLY in this house, no? I am swooning over the kitchen, and the bathroom sink, and the ceramic tile. Le sigh.

Ohhhh I completely understand your dislike of mismatched wood!Everything in that house looks so beautiful. I wish we had held off on buying some furniture till we had our house. Lets just say it doesn't go (or fit) at all :0P

Ohhh I love it!! Is this a contender? By the way, I am EXACTLY the same way! And my hubby loves country flare to furniture - when we were first married I thought that was my worst nightmare! I've learned to compromise but it can still be hard. :o)

I prefer white woodwork over stained. But, I like wood floors. I painted my dining room set and a hutch already because I don't like wood, period. But, I have to keep my wood grandfather clock. My dad would die if I painted it. Next up, painting the oak entertainment unit. It's one of the last things I need to paint to get rid of the honey oak.

Wow, that house is GORGEOUS!!! Those dark wood floors are to die for! And, just in case, you can always paint over wood panelling, it looks just fine in my opinion. Or, you can also sheetrock right over it if you want to get rid of it all together in the easiest way!

I absolutely refused to buy a house with wood panneling because I knew that my husband would NEVER let me actually paint it--he LOVES wood pannelling!

phew that kitchen is seriously hot stuff! I love it! Of course, I have a love affair with black and white with a touch of steel/silver. And those dark floors, *swoon* I love dark floors! The only problem is....they show dust like crazy, otherwise I'd be staining our new floors dark when we install them

Based on all the previous houses that you have shown that fit your taste or Garth's this one seems to be a wonderful compromise! I know that when the time comes for you two to get a house, you will find "the house" and fall in love with that one also! I wish we lived closer to each other, because I still love to tour houses even though I now have one. I bet we could have fun just looking at houses together!

That interior is fantastic!! I am especially fond of the kitchen. :) And I bet your furniture would look so fabulous in that house!

SUPER cute house!!! LOVE it. I think you guys would fit perfectly in there!

I'm not a wood panel person either...my bf is a master at painting it though if I ever run into it!

I love the look of this house! From the outside you'd never know it looked THAT good.

Since the move at the beginning of the month, I've learned that it's a lot easier (looks better) to take pictures of an empty house than one that has everything in it including unpacked boxes :P

So when are you moving?

Very cute house and I think the furniture would go quite nicely

WHat a great house! I want one! haha

WOW! I would not have expected that on the inside based on the outside! That is SO nice!!! Are you guys looking at that one?

Bekah said...

it is for sure beautiful! Just a word of advice - from someone who made every possible homebuying mistake...dont be taken in by all the "fixings" if you know what I mean. Dont get me wrong, that house looks GORGEOUS...but it reminds me of some houses that we fell in love with that were (in retrospect)clearly flipped, and while everything on the surface looked good, there were serious problems with the houses them selves (leaky ceilings, mold, foundation issues, etc.)

And when you do make an offer on a house...get an inspector you have heard good things about...we picked the cheapest one...and got what we paid for!

Okay..im done with the unsolicited advice!
