Her Dream House.

Garth and I plan to buy a house next summer so we have started looking. Oh it is so much fun to look! I have found that Garth and I have differing taste in houses. While Garth is a bit nervous to purchase a house built in the 1800s, I am totally in love with their charm. This is my favorite house at the moment, located only about 5 minutes from where we live now, nestled in the cutest downtown you have ever seen.
How can you not fall in the love with this house?!
Those hard wood floors make me swoon:
It is so bright and cheerful:
Love the porch:
I think I would take up cooking if I had this:I love that the master bedroom is on the first floor and that the bathroom is HUGE:The backyard is perfect for our little dogs to run around:THAT is my dream house. It has the charm, it has the hardwood floors, it has the safe neighborhood and the good school system. Tomorrow I'll show you Garth's favorite house.

gorgeous home! i can't wait to see his dream home - hopefully there is a compromise somewhere in the middle.

the hubs and i have decide to build a replica of an old farm house.

around here the authentic ones are in such a state of disrepair it would take too much money to fix them up

This house is totally my style! Love it!

I love it, but old houses are just not my thing. The bathroom though, *sigh*, beautiful. :)

Love it! I agree with you on the old house debate. I think they were built so much better. My mom had a house built when I was in elementary school and it just hasn't held up as well as older houses. They build them too fast these days!

OK that is my dream house too!! How much is it selling for?!

Old houses definitely have their charm! I lived in one growing up, and Live in one with my husband now! They also have their quirks, though.

LOVE the porch area of that house!

What a cute house!! Joey and I have totally different taste as well, so when we buy our next house in a couple years, it's going to be a difficult move, I do believe. LOL

I swoon over the porch, the kitchen and the bathroom with you! Can I just move in with you guys? :)

These are some of my favorite style houses too & they are plentiful in the neighborhood we currently live in. Unfortunately for us, the price tags on them won't work. Phoo!!

Oh my gosh, that is my dream house! I'm like you in that I love old homes. Jon is the opposite in that he doesn't even want to consider a house older than 20 years old. It's going to be a tough battle for us when we buy another place!

Ok so I was a lil lost....I thought when you said "your dream house" you meant a cute lil house you posted about not too long ago. I just noticed this one and it's beautiful<3 I loveeee the porch! I kinda feel your hubby though..the old homes have alot of issues and sometimes even critters but some home ownwers take so much pride in keeping their home up-to-date and beautiful! Love the wood floors and the layout! Wow..so this makes it harder to choose lol.

Kristen said...

This doesn't look like an older home. Has it been completely updated? It's gorgeous.

Taryn said...

sorry garth- but this history major has to go with the one built back when they knew how to build houses. they have the best windows and doors. sigh.

Anonymous said...

LOVE your dream house! My husband and I argue about the same thing....I'd love an older charmer house....he only wants brand new with no hidden problems to be discovered!

Kate said...

LOVE it! I want a porch just like that some day!

♥Joy♥ said...

I just flew in from Jax's blog and I have to say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE your dream house WELLLLL over Garth's. I know you don't know me from adam, but OMG! Beautiful!!! It's AMAZING!

Lacey said...

Hubby and I have different dream home tastes too...it will definitely make the situation more complicated when we go to buy a house, so I totally understand your predicament! I LOVE the house you picked...old houses have so much charm! You and I have very similar tastes!

Drew said...

Your dream house is my dream house! Also, my boyfriend is the same as Garth. He wants the newer, bigger house that is further away from entertainment.

Sigh.

Luckily, we should have a few years before walking down this divide in our opinions!
