Packing.

Garth and I make the best team EVER. Seriously, we had this amazing system going and we had almost everything packed up in 2 days flat. We were on a roll, but I say almost everything packed because we still have some kitchen and bathroom supplies to pack. But we still use these items on a regular basis so we can't pack them until the night before. Ahhhhh that is a great big sigh of relief. 9 days left and we are 95% done packing, that is big for us since we are procrastinators. But pour us some wine, pump up the music, and we pack like mad.
I will tell you the NOT fun part of packing, and that is finding stuff from Garth's bachelor days. A zebra print picture frame, and a beer candle are among the things I have tried to dispose. But then Garth throws the "But it's from South Africa" bit and I can't make him get rid of it now!
Last night we battled over these black crock pot looking salt and pepper shakers, and this is how the conversation went down:
Me: "Hey babe can we get rid of these? We never use them."
Garth: "They are from South Africa! These are heritage!"
Me: "So we will never get rid of them?"
Garth: "No! We will pass them on to our kids, and they will pass them on to their kids, and their wives will nag them to get rid of them. It will be tradition!"

That's awesome. We are such procrastinators too.... It's so easy to put things off. But great job getting most of your things packed in two days, that might be a world record ;)

Your conversations crack me up! You guys are precious ;)

Glad to hear the packing went so well. I hate packing, it's the worst ever. Love the reenactment of the conversation ... too funny.

Haha! Luckily when I got married I was able to get him to toss all but three things. And they were bad things...A picture of Marilyn Monroe (that was not framed nicely), a John Wayne clock ( that his grandpa gave him) and his other grandpa's hard hat from when he worked as a pipeliner (that, I understand). Boys.

Good luck with the move! I'm heading to MS to pack next weekend!

There are only a few things left from David's bachelor days--I didn't have to nag him though! When we got married & moved in together we knew we didn't have a whole lot of space so we couldn't bring everything!

If they accidentally fall off the counter what can he do about THAT? ;)

ha ha ha... you guys are too cute. I love it!

Your packing is SO much better than us. We were STILL packing when the Uhaul pulled up to take the stuff... no joke. And now some stuff is still in boxes because, as bad as I am with packing, I'm even WORSE in unpacking!!!

This made me LOL!! Mr. R has all this motorcycle stuff that I'm like "Um, hun, can we rid our closets of this junk?" "JUNK!? It's not JUNK! It's my childhood happiness!"

Whoops!

TOTALLY can't wait for the big moving day!

HAHA. Too funny! Yep. Stuck with them forever.

haha - I think the worst thing for us when packing was finding notes and pictures from my hubby's past girlfriends. He is the worst at cleaning stuff out and throwing it away, but at least he wanted to get rid of it. Well, he got rid of everything except for this stupid box a girlfriend made him. He claims he likes the box, and trust me, I know he doesn't care that it was from her because he threw other stuff from her away, but I still just hate that stupid box. However, I'm not sure where it is these days!

Haha I know how you feel when men keep the ugliest things for "sentimental" value. Mine has an african mask... I hid it in the basement. I am impressed that ya'll were able to pack in 2 days!

Great job getting mostly packed up. It sounds like you guys made it fun. This is something I dread doing. It seriously tops my list of least favorite things to do.

I love that you were trying to get rid of some of his silly things. I do the same thing!
