Monica.

I am borderline obsessed with Friends. I have seen every episode at least four times and Garth and I are constantly quoting from it. When we get a dog, we are naming him Chandler. And the only movie I would ever wait in line all night to see at the theater would be Friends. And I desperately hope they make a Friends movie!!! Told you I was obsessed.

So, I'm sure you have all watched it and wondered which character you would be. I always wished I was Rachel, she's fun and has amazing hair. But I'm Monica in the sense that I'm pretty extreme about cleaning. There was ONE fork in the sink and I just had to clean it. Garth was like, "really is that necessary?" But it was. I cannot sleep if the kitchen is dirty or clutter on the counter. It's disgusting, I know.

I'm trying to get better at it. I'll never forget wise words from a friend of mine. Her brother's wife had passed away during childbirth and she said to me, "It just really makes you realize the important things in life. I'm okay leaving dishes in the sink if it means I can spend more time with my husband. You just really don't know how much time you have."

Wow. This really hit me. I don't want to spend so much time obsessing over something so trivial and forget the important things. I'm trying to make it more balanced and to let it go. It's a challenge, but I'm getting better. But that is why I have Garth to help me out. I went in the kitchen for a pop, and when I didn't come back for 10 minutes Garth came in to find me scrubbing the floors. But seriously, I'm getting beter about it.

Girl I am with you on the FRIENDS movie....I would pitch a tent and wait in line to see that thing!
I'm honestly half Rachel and half Phoebe exactly.

I'm not too obsessed about cleaning but for some reason if the microwave isn't cleared or a clock is not set it really bothers me and I have to drop whatever I'm doing and fix it.

This made me LOL! Mr. R is like you and I'm, well... more relaxed :)

I will say this... Mr. R has learned from me to "let it be" and I've learned from him "don't let it be for too long..." --

Happy Weekend!

Scrubbing the floors...you're amazing! I'm going to be honest, cleaning is not my thing.

I love Friends too. If I could be one of the girls, I would want to be Rachel. But Hubster would probably say I was Phoebe (a little ditsy and always saying random stuff) Haha!

haha... I'm like that too. Too obsessed with cleaning. Some days I can let it go and others I can't. I'm still learning to balance

So true! I think I fall somewhere in the middle on the cleaning craziness scale.

Ahh, I wish I knew you in real life. You crack me up.

I'm the same way but I have learned to just turn my head some!! I do find myself still thinking about it though and then going back later on when he's not looking to clean. :) Friends is my all time fav too!! I watch the reruns ALL.THE.TIME

I think I'm more like Monica than Rachel or Phoebe, but I'm not such a clean freak. I do like things MY way though.

I have days that are "cleaning days" -- it keeps me from doing it EVERY day!

I just posted about my inability to ever relax because of cleaning!!! I am so Monica in that aspect!!

Girl - that's hilarious!! And god bits of wisdom, too. You will regularly find dishes not only in my sink, but also spilling over onto my counters (we have a very shallow sink... yeah, that's it!). I love a clean house, but realistically, loving my Husband comes first. :-)

That's so true, but much easier said than done. I'm definitely a Monica in every sense. I know it's hard to step back and realiza what's important when that fork seems like it is. We'll keep working on this!

I do the same things!! I'll go in a room for something and wont come out, because I'm cleaning that room!

I love this post and it makes me laugh because my best friend actually calls me Monica as a nickname after Monica on Friends! Not just because of my love of cleaning, but also because I'm very organization-oriented and in the past I've been very matchy matchy in my clothing choices. But I think it's definitely possible to balance keeping things clean and spending plenty of times with loved ones.

I definitely understand. I am the same way! :)

I wish I was cleaner! I think it drives my hubs crazy sometimes when I leave stuff on our kitchen counters. I am trying to get better at it...that and making the bed - never thought I would actually be admitting my cleaning flaws! HA

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's brother's wife. Your friend is right, we never know how much time we have left.

As for a FRIENDS movie, I would be so excited to see it! I always wished I was more like Monica but I am a closet slob....it's awful, I know!

I am TOTALLY obsessed with "Friends" and so is my husband!! We quote it all the time and we constantly watch the DVDs (we have all 10 seasons). I'm definitely a Monica... :-/

A) I LOVE Friends...own all 10 seasons on DVD. The sad part is my hubby hate that show so I end up watching it all by myself :(

B) I know what you mean about living for those special moments. Sometimes we just need a reminder :)

My husband just got me the whole series, I watched them all even though I'd already seen them a million times. :)

I'm a Monica.

But before I got married and pretty much turned boring, I'm pretty sure I was more like (Amy?)Rachel's sister. :) A stuck-up shop-a-holic brat.

haha... it cracks me up that you posted this... am loooove friends! i am sooo the opposite about cleaning though.... i would probably be a cross between chandler and phoebe on that show... sarcasm plus randomness if that makes any sense... good moral though that you are learning to remember to worry about the important things in life :-)

It depends on the day, but I can get really obsessed with cleaning too and completely forget what is going on around me. This is especially true when we're expecting company.

I used to love watching Friends and still catch some of the reruns.

Have a great weekend, Lindsey!

I LOVE Friends too!!! Every night we watch a couple. And each time we are always laughing. It never matters how many we have already seen it. lol.

AND...I am so Monica. I love Rachel but I am so much like monica when it comes to the cleaning. I don't think of it as a bad thing though...who doesn't love a clean home. :)

Really, not enough clean people in the world! I have come across messy and gross people...
So, your okay.
I'm working on it also.
I was once late for work because my DVD's were out of order and I couldn't leave them alone! I HAD to finish the job and get it all done and organized before I went to work...explain THAT to the boss...hmmmm?

I'm not obsessed with cleaning. I have gotten a lot worse since the hubby went to nightshift and I don't see him as much. But I'm with you totally with the Friends stuff.

I love Friends as well. On top of that....I'm a Monica as well. Just thought I'd stop by and say hello since I haven't been on in a while. I have missed reading your blog.
