Father's Day Weekend.

Friday night we went over to some good friends' of ours. I have known Megan since birth because our dads are best friends and, lucky for us, our husbands get along really well. We walked to a Mexican restaurant where the salsa tasted like marinara sauce and my margarita was all ice. But the food was delish and the company was excellent. We had a great time catching up and planning a vacation together in the future.

As we were leaving their house it was pouring so hard we had to drive 30 mph because we could barely see the road. As we parked the car and started to run inside, I realized the parking lot had turned into a river and as we ran across the parking lot, I mean river, I lost a shoe. And not my dollar Old Navy flip flops, but my cute J. Crew flips so I stuck my hands into the water, but the current was so strong. Not to mention we were getting soaking wet. So we gave up and ran inside. I felt like Cinderella with my missing shoe as I darted up the stairs, but not as glamorous and I already found my Prince Charming. We poured some wine, turned out the lights, and watched the storm unfold in the night sky.

Saturday was relaxing. We slept in, made omelettes, and then Garth did homework the entire day and I read. Sunday we went to church with my fam and then went back to my parents for a steak dinner. It was so beautiful yesterday that we ate outside on the deck, went for a walk, and played Ladder Golf all afternoon. Perfection.

On this Father's Day weekend, I just reflect on how blessed I am to have such an amazing dad! He is a man of integrity, a man of God, a family man, and he's pretty darn funny too! Garth and I look up to you and love you very much dad!!!

ETA: We did find my missing flip the next morning wedged under a car tire. Success.
