Fast Forward 5 Years

As I sit in our tiny apartment that just keeps getting smaller and smaller due to all the boxes, I grow increasingly more claustaphobic. I know it's temporary, but these two weeks are going incredibly slow and we just want to get into our new place!

Instead of complaining about how there is hardly any room to move because boxes have taken over, or how much I loathe packing, I've decided to dream about where we will be in 5 years. I will be 30 (YIKES!!) and Garth will be 32 years old. I hope we'll be living in one of these houses:

Garth plans on driving his Sebring (his other love) until it dies, so he will hopefully still be driving that in 5 years. If we weren't being realistic here, he would be driving a Corvette Convertible. I turn in my leased car next year and we plan on buying this:

I see us with one beautiful little baby and another on the way. I hope we're living in North Carolina or Georgia. Or anywhere that shuts down with one inch of snow and is only an hour from the ocean. Garth will have opened a web design business and I'll be a stay-at-home mom working very part-time as a wedding coordinator. We'll have a Golden Retriever named Chandler (my fave Friends character) and an English Bulldog named Manchester (after Garth's fave soccer team - Manchester United). We will have a big deck facing a lake, complete with a firepit. We will have a gorgeous speedboat and kayaks tied to our deck. THAT would just be perfection.

Of course, this is just our plan. We all know that we make plans and God laughs (wise words from my Dad). But it will be fun to look back at this in 5 years and see how close we are to this dream. But no matter where we are in 5 years, I know it will be where God wants us to be and that is enough for me.

It's so true that God laughs at our plans, but I hope he agrees with yours! What a great plan!

Can't argue with that!

That's sounds like a pretty nice life! Even though God laughs, I'm sure that with the faith you two share, He'll bless you in many ways- even if they aren't necessarily these ways.

I think that you will have all of those things in 5 years! :-) I love both NC & Georgia. (Virginia is pretty nice too-- where we are is nice & cozy---we're 20 minutes from city life and about 1.5 from the beach!)

Sounds like a nice plan! Great idea to write it down to... will be fun to look back and see where God has you and be able to compare.

God's plans are always best, but sometimes they're the same :)

My fiance and I are also dreaming ;)
We had a long talk last night pretty much about the exact same things....living in a house that's on a lake or maybe one on a golf course! lol! We were looking at dream homes online as well. So exciting to think about the future!

Sounds like a lovely plan. I love that quote from your father "we make plans and God laughs"

I have been doing an awful lot of planning lately so I have a feeling God's been doing an awful lot of laughing.

Oooh I love the top house! Your 5 year plan sounds wonderful! My hubby and I have a 5 year plan but its a little less financially stable (it involves planting a church in a city that is cross-country from where we are now!) so I doubt we'll have boats or decks or maybe not even a house. So...when you do have those things, can I come visit?? ha ha!

I hope you get everything you want and so much more. You two deserve it! :) Those houses are lovely, too! You could gain a lot of baking experience in those kitchens, haha. :)
