Garth and I were reminiscing about our time in apartment #17309. I thought I would share some of the memories we've had in our 1.5 years here:
01. The large naked lady across the courtyard. She liked being naked and she liked sitting next to the window or on the balcony. She freaked Garth out so bad he would never open the blinds. Thank goodness she moved out shortly after we moved in.
02. The air mattress my parents gave us since all we had were twin mattresses. Sleeping on that for the first few months was funny and shopping for a mattress made me really feel married.
03. The klutz that I am knocked over a glass of red wine all over our carpet. A tiny stain remains, but it still reminds me of the many nights we played cards and drank wine at our kitchen table.
04. Setting down our luggage down so, in true tradition fashion, Garth could carry me over the threshold after returning from our honeymoon.
05. Carrying our huge dresser down 3 flights of stairs to return to Ikea for damage. Only to learn we only had to bring the damaged piece, thus having to carry the huge dresser back up 3 flights of stairs.
06. The tiny bedroom closet that only fit my clothes, forcing Garth to use the hallway closet for his clothes. Marriage is sacrafice.
07. Walking downtown for coffee and sitting by the fountain.
08. I don't have a nightstand on my side of the bed, I have bikes. I'll laugh about this one later.
09. Riding our bikes to the lake and dreaming about buying a boat and picking out our favorite houses on the water.
10. I still can't believe we witnessed a FBI drug bust across from us. We saw real guns!!
11. The constant smell of cigarette smoke in my closet that no matter how hard I try I cannot get out!
12. There are very unhappy marrieds across the hall and we hear their fighting all. the. time. I got out of the shower and Garth was sitting by the window (ease dropping!!) and he says to me "Ok, he screwed up her birthday party and she is NOT happy."
So they aren't all happy memories, but they are funny, and we certainly won't forget our time at apartment #17309. Afterall, it was our first home as a family.

Ah the blow up matress. When we first moved in all we had was a twin blow up matress that we tried sharing. A few days later we had a new mattree.

BWAH HA HA! The naked lady bit is hilerious! Now you got me to thinking of the memories Robert and I are building in our first apartment...I wonder, when we move, if we'll have as many funny ones as you do!

I was just reminiscing about how Matt and I shared a giant air mattress bed for a bit that would constantly deflate! It's the small stuff that will make you smile for years and years.
You and Garth definitely have some memories, that's for sure. I love that he carried you over the threshold when you got back from your honeymoon...so sweet!
This is so great! Think about all the new memories you will have in your new home, and make sure Garth carries you over the threshold again...for old time's sake!

Sounds like you have lots of good memories there! I know how you feel about your closet smelling like smoke. The people downstairs smoke all the time, and the smell somehow comes up through my closet. So consequently, my clothes all smell like smoke. Can't wait until I don't have to deal with that anymore!

Ha, in college we had a guy we called Nudie Man. This 70 year old, OLD Man, who liked to sunbathe naked under the girls dorm.
