Reading Machine

The laundry was not folded and put away.
The dishes were piling up in the sink.
The carpet needed vaccuuming.
The fridge was almost empty.
I blame it on Eclipse. If I wasn't at church or outside with family, I was reading. I finished the book Monday night and I want more! I borrow the books from a good friend, and she keeps forgetting to bring Breaking Dawn. It's like crack to me and I NEED to read it. I'm starting to get withdrawls.
Since I have become this crazy reading machine, I started reading this book by Paula Deen. My sister-in-law told me it was a must read and graciously let me borrow it. Now, I love me some Paula. She is the essence of Southern and you all know how much I want to be Southern! I just adore the way she writes and I cannot put the book down. She had a hard knock life and I have a whole new respect for her...and food!

I know what you mean about the Twilight books...when I was reading them...I hardly stopped to eat! People would be talking to me and I would just stop paying attention to them because I was SO into the book. I don't think I skipped a day in between books!

Hubs and I got my MIL that Paula Deen book for Christmas. We've seen her a couple of times in person at the Food Show here and she is really fun. Glad you are enjoying the book!

You are so cute! I was the same way with the Twilight saga, could NOT put it down! Next you should read the Sookie Stackhouse series. The HBO show True Blood is based from these books!

Happy reading ;)

This reminds me of the one time I loaned the first 4 Harry Potter books to a friend of mine. I figured I could give her the 5th when I'd see her a couple weeks later before her wedding.

Yeah she read them all in about 4 days. I can understand the first 3 but 4 was bigger than a phonebook.

That's why I don't read on a normal basis because then everything else is not important!! I'm glad you enjoy it so much though!!! XOXO

I also love to read but haven't read a book in too long. I never read any of the Twilight books. I guess I should. haha

I LOVE Paula Deen! We ate at her restaurant The Lady & Sons when we went to Savannah. The food was fricken amazing. I bought an autographed cook book of hers there and I have attempted some of her recipes. They all call for at least a stick of butter in each one lol. NOT good for my waistline!

Put it this way...I finished ALL 4 books in a week. I am not one to read alot but my goodness, I was hooked. lol. I loved it! I got frustrated a few times throughout but overall they were great! You shold get out the other one she (Stephanie Myer) has out on ur website. Its Twilight but in Edwards version. AWESOME! I's only 12 chapters of the book but its way better than the first, atleast in my opinion...you see more of how feels for her. very romantic. :)

This totally reminded me that I need to go to her website and read the half-finished book she wrote from Edward's perspective. Have you read that yet? I'm sure it's fascinating! Glad you're enjoying the series!

I hear ya, for about a month I was a zombie. I slept minimal hours and did as little as I could get away with because my nose was stuck in a book. Hope you get started on Breaking Dawn soon. It's so worth it.

You have got my curiostiy going and I now have to see if my library has that book of Paula's. I do love her food and she is truly Southern. Now that I live in the SOuth I need to figure out how to be more Southern. I am a New England Yankee but I can be a Southern New ENglander, RIght? LOL!

Melissa said...

You need to get your hands on Breaking Dawn NOW! I read the whole thing ( all 7oo+ pages) in 2 days. That's literally all I did for 2 days was read!!

Jessie Brown said...

Aww, thank you for your kind comments. I am doing "Take Shape for Life." It's the medifast diet. You order it in the mail. You get bars, shakes, soups, oatmeal, etc and you eat 5 of those a day, then have a "lean and green" meal for dinner...or lunch if you choose. The lean and green is like a lean meat & veggies...chicken salad for example...with low fat dressing. It SUCKS sometimes, but the results are consistent, so it's worth getting the weight off. They also have a transition diet, so you don't put it all back on when you're done.
Whew...that was a long comment :)

Jessie Brown said...

Oh, I am hopeless to do anything else if I'm reading a Twilight book. I have read them all...and am very sad there are not more.
She is writing a "Twilight" from Edwards perspective, but I want more of the story!! :)
