Weigh Up!

Soooo last Monday I complained that I was sick of maintaining and ready to lose these last ten stubborn pounds. I promised updates each Monday so here you go!
I started counting calories (allowing myself 1200 per day) and I realized why I was not losing - I was underestimating the calories in what I was eating!!! Keeping track of what I ate each day helped me know what I was eating and to be mindful of the portion size.
Calorie counting works for me because it's easy and I have freedom to eat what I want. Life is too short to cut out good food! For example, Tuesday we had Panera catered and I ate a 500 calorie egg souffle (and it was worth it!),so I adjusted the rest of my food for that day accordingly so I still only ate 1200 calories.
I started working out 5 times a week. Saturday through Wednesday I would alternate between kickboxing, weight lifting and running for an hour each day. I give myself Thursdays and Fridays off to rest my aching muscles!
I weighed myself this morning and am happy to report that I lost 2 pounds!!! YAYAYA! My goal is to lose 2 pounds a week and so far, so good!=)

Wow! You are the weight loss and exercise queen! Congratulations! Can you give me an example of what you eat in a day to stay around 1200 calories and not starve? I'm eating around 1600-1800 and apparently this is not working ;-)

Congrats on achieving your goal this week! It sounds like you are adopting healthy strategies. I've heard that keeping a food journal is a good way to go for weight loss. It's amazing how many calories people mindlessly put into their mouths, myself included!
