3. Such a bummer Matt went home last night on American Idol, but I do think the three that went through deserved it.
4. Garth and I had a packing party last night. We are seriously the worst packers ever.
5. We overpack. I think I packed up half my closet and most of my dresser. Seriously.
6. It is just not necessary to have a suitcase, a duffle bag, a make-up case AND an Old Navy bag. For one week.
7. In my defense, it is a ski vacay so I had to pack heavy clothes and they take up a lot of room.
8. I was at work at 7 a.m. (yawn!) so I can leave at 3 p.m.
9. Officially on vacation at 3:00!!!!!
10. I tried to watch Hell's Kitchen last night because I like Top Chef. They are not the same. I could not stand it!
11. I was asleep by 9:30 p.m. I can be such a loser sometimes.
12. I can hardly wait for a week of quality time with Garth.
13. The future holds: skiing, going to the spa, eating out, and swimming. Bliss.
14. How cute is the little village we will be staying?
15. We leave after work today and won't be back until March 6.16. I'll miss you all! Have a wonderful week! I'll be back with stories and pictures!

You raise a good question, just why do we have to clean before a vacation? A deep clean, removing old food makes sense. I shall have to ponder this.

I HAVE to have my house clean before I leave town. It makes the hubs crazy but otherwise I will be stressed the whole time we're gone. And a stressed out me is not a fun me!
I was sad Matt went home last nite too. But, based on Wed. performances I think we got the top 3 right. Maybe he'll come back as a wild card. Totally possible.

Jealous. Sooo jealous! And I am OCD and vacuum my house once a day. Yeah, I know, it's weird. So dont feel so bad about scrubbing your house top to bottom before leaving!

When we packed everything up and left to travel home for two weeks of Christmas/our wedding/our honeymoon, my husband didn't understand why I also spent an entire day scrubbing the house, doing laundry, changing sheets on the bed, etc. He thought I was a lunatic and frequently mocked me. However, when we got home, and were totally exhausted and starving and just wanted to lay on the couch with take out, he looked around the house and said "thank you. I didn't understand it two weeks ago, but this was the best thing you have ever done for us!". Ha! :)

I have to leave a clean house too! It's the worst when you walk in the door after a week away and everything is a mess. Also, I think the amount of bags you packed is perfectly fine :) Warm clothes take up A LOT of room!

YES it is completely normal to have your house perfect before you leave. That just makes it all that much nicer when you return. Make sure to empty your garbage and get rid of any food that may spoil. :) Have a fabulous trip!!!!

Husby and I are leaving for the weekend - 2 days - and the place in spotless. I just finished emptying the dishwasher. You are not alone.

I always clean before I go home every weekend. Usually on Thursday, my apt. is spotless and by Tuesday it looks like a tornado went through again. For some reason it seems every time I clean, it just finds a way to get dirty again :). I always pack to much and Mr. Nurse can pack very little. I am jealous but realize he doesn't accesorize and have ridiculously curly hair to work with :) Have a great weekedn!

No one understands my packing rituals, because not only does it take me forever to find the clothes to wear...but my place has to be immaculate before I leave! I just love coming home and not having chores to do. :)
