I feel like Garth and I back to dating because I don't see him until much later these days. I became so used to seeing him all the time, but no more. He started his classes last night and though he is loving it, I didn't expect to miss him so stinkin' much!
I was actually looking forward to coming home, making a healthy dinner, watching "The Bachelor" and working out. I did not expect to miss him so much! And I did not expect to enjoy "The Bachelor" as much as I did! I'm addicted.
Garth came home and it was like I hadn't seen him in years. I ran and jumped in his arms and gave him a great big bear hug and we talked and talked, then had to go to bed and do it all over again.
It's going to be tough not seeing him after work, not eating dinner together every night, etc. But it's gonna be worth it. He's chasing his dream and I will support him! I'm so proud of him! It is just for a year so I will suck it up and stop whining! I am already so excited for our date night Friday!
And tonight I am getting coffee with my best friend, so it won't be so bad!

I bet that is hard, but try to stay positive - a year will fly by! Have fun getting coffee tonight. :)
I totally feel your pain! I hate not having more nights at home with Mr. Cup!
I'm the same way!!!
Doing a stupid Long distance thing for a while I still love getting to see my husband everynight. It is a treat still to be able to see him every day.
I would not want to give that up anytime soon.
As a firefighter's wife, I know how you feel. When my hubby works 48 hour shifts, it can get a little lonely :( But you're right...it's only for a year and will be totally worth it in the end!
And um, I'm addicted to The Bachelor too!
I think it is so sweet that you are putting his dreams ahead of your missing him. I think it is so important to support our hubby's like you are doing. Things will get easier I am sure but I also bet you will learn to treasure the time you have with him even more too!
i know that must be hard, stu is only in class one night a week, and i don't like that!
could you shoot me an email (ashleyrouton@gmail.com)
I have a question for you :-)
I hate when I go back to school.
I usually travel Wednesday through Friday [usually...not always] so Mondays and Tuesdays were our nights, but now I am in school those nights.
Really I only see Mr. Newlywed on the weekends.
It takes me a bit to get back into the swing of things, but before I know it I have a break again!
Aaaww that is so sweeet! I know that is hard. You can do it!! It will makes yalls time together sweeter! I am proud of you for supporting your hubby!! You are such a good wife!! I bet he liked to be greated like that too when he came home!
If you like to read books are your best friend on long nights :)
awww-you are so precious!! but you are a good wife being supportive :)
Hey Twin,
I completely FEEL your pain... the hubby is a college coach so come Spring I NEVER see him anymore... it totally stinks.. but there is light at the end of the tunnel!
XOXO
Good for you for being so supportive of Garth and his night classes! It sucks not having the hubby home at night... I know exactly how you feel. My hubby works all the time. And OMG The Bachelor is completely addicting! It doesn't hurt the ratings that Jesse is H.O.T.!!!
I know what you mean! My husband travels for work and is gone for a week at a time here and there. Some days are tough, but when he gets home I'm even more excited to see him.
This will make your date nights so much more special! I'm sure he appreciates that you are being so supportive!
My hubby is taking classes too.. I totally understand where you are, and you are good wife to have such a good attitude about it!
awww you and the husband are so cute. keep your head up! I'm sure the school year will be over before you know it.
Hang in there...at least you get to give him that bear hug at the end of each day! Also, you can use this time to do stuff you want to do as well. XX!
hang in there, i know how you feel! i hate it when my husband has a meeting or is out of town for work but it also gives me the chance to catch up with girlfriends that i haven't talked to in awhile. oh and the bachelor...i can't wait until next week! i feel sorry for the situation that stephanie was in but i can't continue to stare at the bad botox she has written all over her face because that is truly sad!
Aww, you two are so cute. You'll just have to have lots of weekend dates to make up for the missed dinners during the week. Stay warm...I think we live pretty close to each other...
I bet that is way hard... but even better when you do see him and do get to spend extra quality time with him. Yeah Garth for pursuing his dreams!
I bet that is hard!! But I bet it will grow your relationship also!!!
Girl, I am glad you are addicted to The Bachelor. It makes me feel better cause I am SOO addicted!!
It's so sweet that you miss him like that, as much as it is hard for you. I once asked my mom when you don't want to spend every second with your significant other and she told me seven years, lol. I guess I have about two more to go...
Being apart is tough. It gets a little easier (my hubs works nights and weekends with his job sometimes), but not by much. :)
garth is a lucky guy!! i know how you feel -- i'm on the road so much sometimes and it really stinks having dinner alone and going to sleep alone in an empty hotel bed. :( it definately makes the time we do have together more special!!
have fun on your coffee date! :)
aw.. i'm sorry. this how me & josh were.. and now i cant get away! lol..
I hear ya sister! I have been dealing with that for the last year and half and have a year and half left to go. You will get used to it, and it makes you love the times together even more :)
I understand where your coming from!! My hubby works 2nd shift and its like I never get to see him!!! OH well your right, it will be worth it and since you are supportive of him its even better!! Take this time to do some things for yourself..
It does stink not getting to see each other each night. We get to those points once in awhile, and while they are no good at the time, it will balance out in the end. Just think of how much happiness there is when you do miss each other so much!
Oh, and the Bachelor...awesome! I love that show...so addicting!!
That has to be hard, I often don't see Ryan very much so I sympathize!
I feel your pain -- I travel work so 3 nights a weeks I'm away from home. I try to occupy myself by spending time with co-workers, blogging, TV shows, exercise, work and sleep. It's not easy though!
My fella just started a great job ... he works swing shift though ... gets home about
10:00-10:30pm ... we need to do a date night ... I'll cook him something nice ... I feel bad not eating with him ... I loved when dinner would be ready by 7pm and we would eat watch some Planet Earth or Jon & Kate + 8 and have time to have a good chat about or day ... now I'm going to bed around 11-12 at night waking up 6am to go to work ... like a zombie. We will find a happy medium :)
It's true what they say: absence makes the heart fonder! I can't stand it when Mr. S works late--it's as though we're back to the 4 1/2 years we spent seeing each other once a week (doing the long distance thing). But, it makes me appreciate the time he's here!
aww, you are such a great wife, and to be honest, the way you greeted him is whats gonna make the difference in how these years go by... so sweet, what a wonderful reminder! ♥ LA
I understand how hard it is. It will be worth it though.
The year will go fast!
I left you something on my blog!
I love this Bachelor season too!!
Thanks for leaving me comment and stopping by my blog!
I hate being in a long distance relationship and not being able to see my boyfriend everyday like we used to.
I am so behind! Glad you got your anniversary trip planned - sounds like fun!!!!! Hope you are having a good week!
The Bachelor was so good this week...I only started watching it last season but now I love it!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I, too, am learning to be a wife!
Awwww! I totally understand that feeling! My hubby is frequently gone a lot with the Army and it tends to make us appreciate each other all the more when we are finally in each others arms again! I love feeling like a newlywed after almost 8 years of marriage!
I can sympathize with you about missing your husband! I'm missing mine like crazy right now. I'm glad he has the opportunity to go back to school, and it will get easier for you as time goes on. But I know it's still hard, so my thoughts are with you!
Sounds like you had an awesome day off!!! Don't you love it when you're able to get so much stuff done?
