Random Musings

1. Small group is awesome. A couple in our group announced they are engaged. So. excited.
2. Tonight is my work party, woohoo!
3. I need to take my car in, ugh. The engine light went on and no matter what the manual says to do to fix it the light will NOT go off.
4. Garth is registered for school! YAYAYA! He is going back to get a certificate in web design and he is thrilled = I am thrilled.
5. We are going to start packing this weekend. Garth knows I am dreading this and he is being so supportive - like letting me do all the decorating for the new place so I'm excited to move.
6. We started Christmas shopping last week and we hope to finish next week.
7. Garth and I had a great conversation last night about our dreams for the future. I love these.
8. We have decided since Christmas Day is so packed full with family fun and driving that we are going to make Christmas Eve the just "us" day. We will start new traditions - like cooking a big breakfast and watching "Charlie Brown's Christmas" and "It's a Wonderful Life" and other fun stuff.
9. This morning our conversation went like this:
Me: "You have great legs, they are so long and muscular. I want your legs."
G: "Your stomach is so flat. I want your stomach."
10. As for the diet, we both gained 3 pounds since FL. So this week we ate really healthy and were back at the gym and we weighed in this morning and Garth lost 3 pounds and I lost 2. YAY! Back on track from the holiday vacay.
11. I won sweet Mrs. Guru giveaway and I had to do the runaround with FedEx to find where the package was! I finally got through to a real person today, located my package, and am excited to pick it up after work.
12. We rented "Hitchcock" and I wasn't impressed. It started out pretty good, but fizzled.
13. Garth's birthday is next month and I wish I could tell you my ideas but he reads this blog (Hi love!)
14. In response to the post about airplanes making us want kids, thank you for your kind words and good advice. We are not planning on kids ANYTIME soon...seriously...our timeline for kids is 3 to 4 years in the future.
15. This week was stressful for me because I let stupid things get to me like gaining weight, and having to take my car in. I hate myself for crying over these! GAH! After Garth hugs me he says "Now quit whining and do something about it!" He says this in a gentle, loving tone, promise. He is so right so I did something about it! We made a plan as to when to take my car in and I stopped eating at night, bought fruits and veggies, and got back to the gym.
16. Garth and I are trying to come up with some fun new holiday traditions to start. What traditions do you do?

Hehehe on the "wish I had your legs conversation..." It is amazing how many girls want their guys legs!!!

Its hard not to let things like that get to you...its natural for women to get worked up about them. I mean..someone has to worry and care about everything right?!

I always love your random musings! I wish we could have an us day on Christmas eve, but we have to work until noon and then we are driving up to see my family! It will be fun though - I love Christmas even with my fam :) We always play games and go look at lights and then drink hot chocolate and order pizza. It is the best tradition that I look forward to every year. I also get worked up about a lot of things like that too. By the way though - I actually prefer my legs to my hubby's - haha! His aren't bad, but that is one of my good assests!

What a great post!
You are such a cute couple.

We are very Christmassy...we watch lots of Christmas shows or movies...bake cookies; do stuff in our town to be in the spirit.

Christmas Eve we have appetizers, sing carols and have the kids open one present!

Enjoyed your random musings :)

We have numerous family traditions, of which I love! Their consistency has been a comfort throughout the years :)

We ALWAYS bake so many goodies and give them away to neighbors and friends, we always watch "It's a Wonderful Life". We all get cute new pj's on christmas eve and drink hot cocoa by the fire and watch christmas movies, we cook a big breakfast on Christmas morning. There are so many more as well. It's my fav time of year thanks to my family and our great traditions! :)

Your list is jam-packed. You have a lot going on in your mind and life.

The only tradition that we have talked about is getting each other an ornament each year. Since we do Christmas eve at my parents and Christmas lunch at his, I'm hoping we can carve out some time for just us. Maybe just rent a movie and drink hot cocoa.

Sounds like you've had a rough week! I'm glad you are enjoying your small groups class. The Mr and I have been trying to find a group like that at our church.

As far as traditions go, I know that we are going to make Jesus a birthday cake for Christmas and I really want to start a tradition of reading the Christmas story every Christmas eve. We did this when I was growing up and I loved it! I'm looking for a nice book so we can have it when the kiddos start coming along :)

I love those future talks, too. For some reason they make me feel really good. My husband and I have been able to spend Christmas day together last year and will be able to this year. I really enjoy getting to do something special with just the two of us.

We are going to attempt holiday traditions next year. We've been together...6 years? Each year we do Christmas Eve with his family and Christmas Day with mine. Which leaves us no time for ourselves. So, we open gifts and do our own little celebration on December 17--the anniversary of our first date and the day he proposed two years ago!

I think it's important to establish your own traditions :)

The convo between you two was amusing :0) Have fun at the work party!!

I'm so glad to know that someone else cries over the dumbest stuff. I always get tearful when I'm stressed.

I wish I had YOUR flat stomach!

Ha!

Sounds like a busy but blessed life...

Whenever I start to feel sorry for myself I stop and take another approach... example: I, too, have to take my car in for it's 50k service...but it's such a hassle... on the other hand... I'm so thankful I have a car. I need to clean house this weekend... ugh... on the other hand: i have a home to clean... etc..

ya know? it puts it all in perspective.

i'm SO proud of you guys for gettin' back on your diet! It's not easy and you're ROCKIN' it! :)

so good to read ya girl!
