Dinner Conversation

My wonderful mother-in-law generously let us borrow an old dining room table she had. It is beautiful and BIG. It fit in our dining room nicely, but now we are moving to a new place with a smaller dining area that will not fit her table.
During dinner last night this is how the conversation went down:
Me: "I'm excited to buy our very own dining room table"
G: "Me too"
Me: "I was thinking something black and classy"
G: "Well, do we really need a dining room table? Wouldn't it be more fun to get a ping pong table instead?"
Me: "What?"
G: "Yeah we could get a ping pong table and practice playing every night and become world champions!!!"
Me: "Are we really having this conversation?"

That's pure hilarity! (is that even a word...haha)

Sounds like something my husband would say.

Why do we need a couch, we should just get a pool table instead...typical!

I think your hubs and mine would get along nicely.

This made me laugh out loud. Sometimes getting to the meat of a discussion is hard when he's coming out of left field. =)

Hahaha... that is too funny!

You both should compromise:
either buy a ping pong table and a nice tablecloth to put over it to make it look nice (with some chairs of course) or buy a square dining room table and some ping pong accessories! Hehe... I'm mostly kidding. ;-)

We may be married to the same man.

We had a conversation a few weeks ago in which Mr. Newlywed wanted to replace the BED with a Star Wars game...like from an arcade.

And sleep on the couch.

So, we will be buying a house sometime next fall/early winter. My husband's ONLY request is that it has a finished basement so he can have a "man room". I am going to draw the line at the neon beer signs he wants to display. Men...so strange.

I guess you could cover it with a table cloth.

You should have replied, "Yeah. A ping pong table sounds like a great idea. We could even have a dart board above your side of the bed too". *Joking of course!* Maybe he will rethink it:)
