You know it's time to move when THIS happens...

Let me start this story by explaining that Garth and I live in a safe city, in a cute apartment in walking distance to an adorable downtown. We love where we live and have always felt safe. We enjoyed the apartment so much we even went to renew our lease, but were unable to because we didn't have a money order for the renewal fees. Since the banks were closed we said we would be back Saturday to renew.
We go home, eat dinner and pop in a movie. Suddenly we heard banging on the door across from us and this: "POLICE! Open up!" Garth grabs me and takes me into the bedroom incase their was gunfire, sigh, my hero. Just like in the movies, we hear: "Get down on the ground!!!"
After the commotion stops Garth and I spy through the peep hole. We see about 5 cops (with guns!!) searching the apartment! By now, Garth and I are fighting over the peephole. One cop leaves the apartment and starts talking on his phone. Naturally, we easedrop. We only hear bits and pieces of the conversation so we don't know what is going down. We are pretty sure it was a drug bust and we know the cops had a search warrant. We watched as one of our neighbors was arrested and taken away by the cops.
I don't know about you, but I believe this was a sign from God that we should NOT be renewing our lease. We have an appointment after work to see a new place. We have 3 weeks until our lease is up so we will be pretty busy packing these next few days!

WOW!! Thats crazy, After living in apartment buildings for the last 4 yrs I have had many nights of looking through a peep hole to see what is going on. Good luck on your aparment search! But I have realized this type of stuff just comes with apartments, no matter where you live :-)

First of all-yes time to move. I'm assuming you live in a larger city & apartments are difficult to come by??

Maybe with them gone it's safe now?
Love your posts-enjoyed it all. Thanks for stopping-see you again.QP

First, if you feel called to move (and I would after that) go ahead and pray about it and then do so.

Second, love your banner!

An incident like that may not necessarily be a sign you need to renew your lease. Stuff like that can happen anywhere, really. You'd be surprised all the different walks of people who end up getting busted for drugs. I think you should be able to get access to a police report. As a neighbor you should have a right to know what happened.

Wow! That's scary! I guess bad things can happen anywhere but that incident would make me want to get the heck out of that apartment complex too! I hope you find a perfect new place!

Oh my! Good luck finding a new place. We are leasing a duplex right now and it makes me wonder what is going on behind our neighbors closed door...they have some suspicious activity going on.
