Confessions of Obsessions

Garth and I are not big TV watchers. We have a 19 inch TV with 5 channels, need I say more? But Garth loves his football and I am borderline obsessed with Dancing with the Stars. Last nights episode was one for the records. I was smiling throughout the whole episode and Garth and I were cheering and clapping like we were there. I love shows like this that make you feel so good! I have always wanted Warren Sapp to win BUT Brooke Burke had to dance to a "Grease" song which is my soft spot! Gah! I can't wait for the finals tonight! Now I need to figure out how to get Garth to let me watch "Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving" AND Dancing with the Stars...hmmm....

In funnier news, Garth and I had quite the discussion on boy bands last night. Let it be known that I love N SYNC's Christmas CD. Don't knock it until you have heard their a capella "O Holy Night" (track 11). This is how I convinced Garth that N SYNC was...er....nsync.
So Garth and I carpool to work. Being the stellar wife that I am (HA!) , I turned track 11 on for Garth to hear as he got in the car. He starts trying to figure out which guy is singing which part and this turns into quite the discussion.
Does Garth forget that I was a teenager girl when NSYNC and Backstreet Boys were popular? I was obsessed with both groups in my younger years so please don't try and convince me that AJ is singing when he is not even in NSYNC!
You can distinguish which Beatle is singing, dear husband, BUT I can distinguish which NYSNCer is singing!

We don't have cable either. There are very few things that I miss. But, if I could buy TLC and Bravo ala cart, I'd be a happy girl.

I was never really a boyband girl, but I am obsessed with Christmas music so I have the nSync CD. It's a good one.

Y'all are too funny! I think that New Kids on the Block was the original boy band, and I still love their Christmas CD. Sad - I know!

O Holy Night was my grandma's FAVORITE Christmas song, so I will have to check out NSYNCs version!!!

I found your blog through "Tales of the Trees" and first I must extend my sympathy for the fact that you do not have a Chik Fil A. It is amazing. Also, I agree on the NSync version of Oh Holy Night. I love Lance and he is my choice for that coveted mirror ball trophy tonight!

Yay for small TVs! We have a 20 inch "round screen" circa 1994 Sony that just won't die. Everyone makes fun of it and we love it! My favorite thing about it? It was free!

I love NSync's Christmas C.D too! I will always be a fan....I'm stuck at in my teen years...Sad but true!

It's pretty hilarious that he would challenge you on something that you clearly know more about;) I mean, if my husband were to argue about members of 80's hair bands, I would bury him. Hmmm, if only Skid Row had recorded a Christmas album.

Ha, funny discussion. And, um, could it get any hotter than Brooke Burke. I semi hate her for looking like that after children!!!

I am an NSYNC fan too...I am 37 :(
I don't know what it is about boy bands-but I love the sound...I am going to the Lions football game with my husband-and only for Jessee Macartney at half-time!!! (I should be like 16 or something!)
Thanks for visiting my blog-please visit soon!!

hahaha I really am not a fan on Nsync, and its not even fair to them that i dont like them.

In 10th grade hockey camp, my friend made the ENTIRE TEAM stand around in a circle and sing happy birthday to Justin Timberlake, then eat cupcakes. I was only in it for the cupcake, but ever since then, nsync has left a bitter taste in my mouth!

They can sing thing though, no one can deny that.

I love to watch Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving && Garfield's Thanksgiving. Mr. B, however, is not much into cartoons so I have to fight to the finish for them, ha!

I never really got into Nsync but a group of girls in my junior high did. They were so obsessed that they all had one that they were married to and would use the boy's last name. Who were you married to ;)

I admire you for living without cable. I often wonder what my life would be like without it. I am sooo addicted!
That conversation would be funny with my husband. He would simply say, "Turn it to ESPN radio!" ha

OMG good for you not having cable. Me? I need it along with my handy dandy DVR or I would probably collapse. Well so would my husband so I guess I could use him an excuse for my (our) tv obsession.

I can't wait for tonight's Dancing with the Stars either =)

Ha! That is too cute! Sounds like my and Hubz. Only we don't argue over singers (he gave in to knowing that I would always be right a long time ago) BUT we do have major discussions about lyrics!
But its so much fun!
