Miami: Days 5, 6 & 7

If you missed the first two recaps you can read them here and here.

Day 5 started out a little different... G and I both woke up with swollen lips and my right eye was swollen as well. After a little googling we realized we had sun poisoning. Our Northern skin can't handle the heat! We walked to Walgreens for aloe, more sunscreen (we went through three bottles in 3.5 days!) and baseball hats. We iced our faces and stayed out of the sun until we didn't look like we had botex injections, ha!

We walked to Juvia for bottomless brunch. The restaurant is on a rooftop on Liberty Street offering gorgeous views of the city and the water. The staff was so friendly and the bellinis were yummy.

It was here I had the best shrimp dish of my life. G's steak and yucca fries were pretty delicious as well.

We walked around Liberty Street and explored the shops and the farmers market.

We splurged on an umbrella and enjoyed the afternoon on the beach. It started storming once we got to our room so we ordered Block's Pizza and had a quiet night in.

Day 6 was back to our normal routine. Walk the beach. Laps in the pool. Laying on the beach and swimming in the ocean.

We came up around lunchtime to get ready.

We walked to Moshi Moshi for sushi and it was THE BEST sushi I've ever had. It was so fresh and flavorful and I am craving it right now.

We spent all afternoon at the beach. It was such a lovely evening we stayed at our hotel and ate poolside at The Grove. Then we swam some more and enjoyed the hot tub.

Day 7 was our last full day and we wanted to maximize it. We spent NINE hours on the beach. We even took advantage of room service and ate lunch from our beach chairs. We were going to miss that turquoise water. It was so calm, gorgeous and refreshing. The sand was white, but never managed to get hot. Paradise!

Our last meal in Miami was epic. We went to Quality Meats for their Wine Dinner which was a three course meal and bottomless wine.

My appetizer was this crab avocado dish and it was incredible.

I had the salmon, but I mostly ate G's steak. It was the best steak I ever had. It literally melted in my mouth.

The chef made us a molten lava chocolate cake for our anniversary and it was amazing. What a perfect end to our tenth anniversary trip.

We got home long past sunset and crashed.
