Boyne Mountain Family Weekend

Last weekend we rented a cabin at Boyne Mountain Resort with my family. My parents, and Eric and Jess had a wedding to attend so G and I came along to babysit. I cannot say no to a vacation and I also had a blast finding a place for all of us to stay.

My parents picked G and I up around noon and we headed to Old Nation Brewery for lunch and a brew. It was a gorgeous day to sit outside and chat and eat good food.

Then we made a quick stop for Starbucks and then made the drive up north.

We rented a Mountain Cabin through vrbo and I cannot say enough great things about the experience. It was gorgeous, clean, immaculately decorated, and the layout was perfect for us. The beds were so comfortable and we got a lot of use out of the deck and hot tub.

After we explored the gorgeous cabin and unpacked we poured a glass of wine and sat on the deck.

Eric and Jess and family came shortly after we arrived and we showed them around the cabin and then headed to dinner to celebrate Jess' birthday. We drove by Deer Lake on the way into Boyne and it was too pretty not to take a picture.

We parked and walked over to Boyne City Taproom. We ended up having a room almost all to ourselves. The staff were all so friendly, the beer was delicious and the food was yummy.

I had the fried egg cheddar burger and chips and it hit the spot.

Ella and I were twinsies with our gold sandals.

The whole crew!

We hung out for a bit after dinner and listened to this blues band playing downtown. They were so good and Bennett and Ella loved it.

We even saw these gorgeous horses giving buggy rides. Did I mention how adorable this town is?

We came back to the cabin and the kids went to bed and we went in the hot tub. It was a chilly weekend which made for perfect hot tub weather.

We slept in Saturday and then drank coffee on the deck. Right after we finished our coffee it started raining so perfect timing!

Baby Bennett snuggles are the best!

These two have my heart.

This guy has my heart too.

We drove into Charlevoix and ate lunch at Bridge Street Taproom. We got there just before the rush and out of the rain and had a nice view of the lake and bridge. I had the grilled cheese with provolone, Gouda, bacon, onion and avocado and it was out of this world.

After lunch we walked around Cherry Republic, ate samples, watched Ella play in the ball pit and enjoyed a wine tasting.

We passed another pretty lake on our drive back to the cabin. The rain finally stopped when we got home so we went in the hot tub.

Then it was time to babysit. G and Ella colored, played games and ate dinner together while I enjoyed Bennett snuggles. Bennett got a little fussy and after trying everything G took Bennett and started singing to him and he stopped crying and fell asleep. Team work! G put Ella to bed and it was the sweetest. He read to her and prayed with her and then she crashed hard. It was a good night and I'm glad Eric and Jess could get out and have a little date night.

Sunday morning was spent packing up and saying good byes. We headed to the Beach House for a drink on the lake. It was so relaxing.

Then we started our drive home and stopped at Big Buck Brewery for lunch. It was a fun experience. The beer was good and my white cheddar and Gouda macaroni and cheese was bomb.

Then we stopped at Starbucks before finishing the final leg of our drive home. It was such a wonderful weekend with family. I'm sad it's over and bummed it went so fast!
